S.1, Ep.4: City of Shadows

As the four heads towards the city, Nats started to explain more about the Demons.

"So be careful.." She started. "These Demons have sharp claws and they don't care who or what you are. There are two types of Demons: The regular black ones are just normal and will attack you up close. The gray Demons with glowing eyes are able to use dark magic in their attacks and may attack from distant." Natalie explained. Luna and Nova listened to her carefully but Ace didn't really focused on her explanation. After all it sounded like he already has experience with the demons. They reached the end of the forrest and saw the city in the distant.
"Is that... Fire?" Luna asked shocked while she pointed in the city direction.
"Sadly it is." Nats responded quite sad.
"Jezus..." Ace said and he ran forward. "Let's go then! No time to waste!"
The three girls agreed and followed Ace to the city of Mirage.

Mirage was a city based on smooth sandstone and wooden logs. The smell of burning wood was all over the place and most of the houses were damaged hard. The city was in complete chaos when the four arrived, screaming people and crying children all over the place. Some military soldiers gathered around a main square and Ace didn't hesitated to join them. The soldiers listened to the officer as he explained the situation.
"Listen up. We got an huge army of Demons storming in from the west side. We need to stand our ground for this one or else we will lose the city."
Ace listened closely and agreed. Meanwhile Nats joined him together with Luna and Nova.
Nova was willing to save the city and readied her crossbow. "Let's do this." She said calm and confident. Nova didn't showed any fear or doubt and was ready to face whatever there was out there.
Luna was a bit more cautious and agreed to stay back and assist the evacuation. Ace and Nats went the old fashioned way as Nats threw Ace an rifle. "Remember how to use this?" She asked him with a smirk.
"Of course." He said calmly as he clicked in the magazine and loaded the chamber. "Alright then. Let's go!" The officer said as he raised his rifle. The soldiers, including Ace, Nats and Nova ran to the frontline. A huge army of demons were seen running towards the city. Some of them in the back started throwing dark purple projectiles towards the city, breaking some buildings in the process. While Natalie and Nova ran to the front, Ace stopped and took aim, taking out a Demon in the distant. Luna assisted the soldiers in the back by helping wounded soldiers and defending the others. Nova shot an Demon and nailed it to a wall. "Nice one Nov!" Nats said as she ran past her.
"Nov?" Nova responded confused.
"Apparently you already have a nickname now." Ace said as he walked up to Nova.
Nova didn't really liked the nickname but she ignored it and continued to fight.
"Nats back me up!" Ace said as he helped an wounded soldier to cover.
Nats nodded but Nova was faster and assisted her in the defense. Nats gave her a thumbs up for that and shot another demon. Luna assisted an soldier by carrying his friend to safety. "Easy now. Everything will be fine." She said as she aided the wounded man. After a brief fight the demons retreated to some sort of cave system, disappearing in the dark. "What now?" Nova asked Nats when she saw them leave. "Lets get back and see what now. We have a lot of wounded soldiers back at HQ." Nova walked back to HQ to assist in aiding the patients. Ace stood next to Nats. "Like old days, right?" He asked her.
"Yeah..." She turned to Ace. "Thank you for helping us."
