Guardians of The Galaxy - Rocket's Bullet

VI. Ravager Ambush

    I was checking my weapons and gearing up. I was going to keep a nightly watch in case anybody was gonna try anything, me and Rocket had set up some traps a while ago before we started repairing the ship. I also hoped it would make a good small distraction after me and Rocket's little 'cuddle' session from earlier. After gearing up, I head to the kitchen and make a small snack on a plate then I walked up to Nebula who was still bonded up. She instantly tensed when she laid her eyes on me.

"Easy blue, made ya a snack" I slid the plate in front of her. She looked at the plate curiously.

"...Why are you giving this to me?" Nebula asked. I rest my hands on my hips looking up at her.

"Just because yer our hostage doesn't mean I'm gonna let ya starve. Don't take it personal tho."

"Well... thank you." She stared at me blankly.

"Yer welcome." 

   I turned my back walking down the ramp of the Milano only to feel a tug on my tail. I stopped and looked down seeing Groot with a scared look on his face. My face softened at the sight of him. 

"I am Groot." His voice was soft, and his body was slightly shaking. I pick him up in my arms.

"Hey, it's alright sprout. Rocket's gonna keep you safe until I get back." I comforted him. 

   Just as I said that I heard footsteps from above the ramp. Speak of the devil, it was Rocket standing right above us. So much for a distraction.

"She'll be okay Groot," Rocket assured walking down the ramp to my level. I nodded at Groot.

"Because you're not going alone." Wait what? I looked at him taken aback.

"You heard me, I'm not letting you go out there by yourself Bullet." Rocket said in his bossy tone.

"Rocket, someone's gotta keep watch in case of intruders." I tried to reason with him.

"I don't want you to get hurt." He got right my face again, but his voice was bit more relaxed.

I silently groaned, "Rocket, listen we have the traps set up I'll be alright."

"We don't know who could be out there!"

   "The Ravagers most likely." Yondu would practically track me and Peter down whenever he just wanted to see us or punish us. "And I've known these guys longer than you have, so I know what they're capable of doing."

  "Nope, I'm still going with you whenever ya like it or not besides, I know the way to get them closer to our traps to make it interesting." I heard a little temptation in Rocket's voice. Is he being serious right now? I just put Groot in Rocket's arms not convinced.

"If you think I'm letting you leave Groot with robo-girl then you're deadass wrong." I said sternly.

"He'll be fine, he'll know not to let her out." Rocket said wittily. I crossed my arms glaring at him.

   "Just stay and look after Groot until I get back, okay?" I looked at him. Rocket let out a sigh and nodded. Groot only looked up at him sadly, I wiped the tears off his face and gently kissed his forehead.
