Shivansh froze as he heard what his mom just said. "What...why didn't she tell me anything??" Shivansh asked. "She was in a hurry, anyways you can always call her" his mom replied. He ran to his phone only to see that he was blocked from everywhere: Instagram, WhatsApp, or calls.
He was devastated, he had no one to talk to. He just cried and told everything to his mother. " Mom, I was such a fool to trust her!" Shivansh said. "You were not, she was a fool to cheat on you, and she'll regret it", said his mom. " Why did you fall for Nina in the first place?" his mom asked. "Well, she was sweet, supportive, kind and of course beautiful" Shivansh replied, his mom said, "You forgot the most important thing."
"What?"Shivansh asked. " Love, did she love you and did you love her, or you both were just together?" His mom replied. Shivansh went silent and thought about it. "What is love Mom?" Shivansh asked.
His mom replied, " If a person loves you, they'll never do anything to hurt you, they'll sacrifice anything just to make you happy."
Shivansh said," Yeah, maybe she didn't love me." With that, he smiled at his mom and went to bed.
As he was changing into his night suit, he felt something in his back pocket, he reached out for it. It was a paper, no it was a letter. "From Maansi" written on top of it.
Shivansh remembered last night they hugged, she must have slipped it at that time. Shivansh's heart started beating fast as he opened it. It read:

Hey, sorry for leaving all of a sudden. I don't want to cause any more drama in your life. If you ever miss me, pretend I never came into your life. One last thing, I want to confess that I love you, I always have, from the first time we talked on that website. I came to Mumbai just to be with you since you didn't trust people online. I thought I might have a chance if we met in real life, but seeing you with Nina broke my heart. I love you so much...I have no words to describe. I hope one day you'll get to know the truth about her. Even though I still love you, I won't come back. It's too late and I'm done with this. I am leaving, I wish you all the best.
Goodbye.

Tears dropped from Shivansh's eyes as he read the last lines of the letter. "Oh God, Maansi. I am so, so sorry. What should I do?" he said to himself. Shivansh was filled with guilt, not realizing that Maansi loved her and most importantly the words he said that night.
Days passed, and he was completely devastated. Nina didn't even try to apologize. Shivansh tried his best to find Maansi and track her down, calling her parents, friends, and even her distant relatives but no sign of her. Her parents told Shivansh that they received a letter too from Maansi saying not to worry about her and that she is safe, she just went to a close friend.
Maansi told her location only to her parents and asked not to disclose it to anyone, so Shivansh didn't get a clue from Maansi's parents even though he begged for it. It was as if Maansi had disappeared in thin air.

Days turned into months, and it has almost been a year. Shivansh still remembers every moment he shared with Maansi. Nina was out of the picture, she left the company and didn't talk to Shivansh anymore.
Did he even deserve Maansi? No, he didn't but he wanted to at least apologize to her, for everything. Every day he prayed to meet Maansi someday.
He has lost hope of finding Maansi now. He just hoped that she was happy and safe. If he could go to the past and change one thing, he would stop Maansi from leaving when she said ' We should not talk anymore', that was the reason for all the problems, he'd ask her to stay with him, he'd say 'please don't go, I like you.'
It would solve all problems, but the past is in the past, and he can't change it. That's the truth.
