Amaya.

"In my soul lives a feeling of deep yearning, and in my heart resides a feeling of painful desire, all for which there is not another person that can cause me such suffering except for you."

It's something I've read recently that I've not been able to get out of my head. The moment I read it two people came to mind, one—I'm not ready to talk about and the other, I think you know him well enough.

The feelings I have for Jazeel, aren't new to me. In fact they hurt because I've felt them before and what comes—it scares me.

Anyway, I've decided to think smarter. I mean—Jazeel and I are close now, we talk a lot and he seems to like my company especially because he thinks Sana and I—our relationship is unbreakable, if he only knew.

But now, I've decided to play my cards right. The next step is forming a strong relationship with my step mother, his sister.

Aisha is just two years older than Jazeel, she's 34years and that's why my step mothers dislike her even more. My father is 44years older than she is, my elder brothers and sister are older than her so they'll never accept her.

I know this house must feel so empty for her. It's not like she can talk with her 6 and 2 year olds.

This plan started about two weeks ago and it's going so well, I can't believe I'm this good. Somehow, it's like the way I'm treating her has made my father happy, seeing as she's his favorite.

I decided to join her for lunch in her living room.
We sat on the same couch, a bit of distance between us as we ate and watched at the same time.
"I love how spicy this is, would've never thought I'd like it" I say.

She and I have been watching the real housewives of Lagos. I'm not someone interested in anything 'Nigerian entertainment' but seeing as I'm trying to get on her good side I decided to give it a shot and well, now I actually like it.

"I told you but you didn't believe me".
I nod "My bad".
She giggles.

"Well, isn't this a surprise"
Aisha and I both raise our heads to find Jazeel standing by the door "You two best friends now?"
I shrug.

"I'm more surprised that you're here" Aisha stated "You missed me?"
He scoffs and turns to me "When did this—how?"
"It's not rocket science brother" Aisha replies in my stead.

"How's it going?" I ask.
He sits across us "I've been swamped with work, I almost nodded off at work"

"You must be starving, I'll ask them to get some food for you"
"No, thanks I'm good" he objects "Just came to see my niece and nephew"

She looks at him suspiciously "Amaya, don't you think he's here for a different reason?"
"Oh definitely, he has the look on his face"

He sits up looking at me daringly "What look?"
"Like you're about to drop a bomb. Stop faffing around and tell us".

"I want to ask Sana to marry me"

My heart dropped, like literally.
Aisha looked confused "Wait, what? Sana? You're already engaged—wait!! It's true?"

"I would have been surprised if your sisters didn't tell you"
She looked worried "Mami is not going to take it lightly"
