Ersana.

Was it just me or did Tariq completely ignore me?
It might have been just me, right?
Why did he ask to speak to Amaya.

I knew it.
Nothing good could come out of this girl's presence tonight. If it wasn't for her reaction when she saw him I would have thought she's trying to sabotage this dinner.

Honestly, I've had no idea what Jazeel and Aisha are talking about since he left with her. They've been gone too long and I can't help but wonder what they're talking about or why he asked to speak to her in private.

Could it be that he wants to get back together with her? Oh God please no.
I sigh.

"You good babe?"
I force a smile "Just perfect. Where's Amaya? She came to dinner and now she's run off with a man?"
Aisha chuckles "Most probably catching up, so Sana what about your parents?"

"Uhh they live in Sokoto, they moved there after retiring 11years ago"
"Retiring 11years ago?"

"Yes, my mum had me really late"
"Oh, and you stayed here"
"Yes with my older brother, his wife and son"

She smiles "The gap must be much, must be why you look so pampered which is a good thing"

When this dinner first started I was nervous, trying to make a good impression but now—where the hell is Amaya?
And like she read my mind she sat back on her seat with a the widest smile.

"I almost couldn't believe it was him" she says before turning to Jazeel and whispering something to him.
Suddenly they're having a conversation quietly, Aisha continued eating and I was just staring at them.

What the hell is she trying to do?
Is she trying to punish me for something?

Now she's having secret conversations with my man?
What is her aim exactly?
I turn looking around to see if I could spot Tariq but nothing, not a sight of him and suddenly I could feel him creeping back into my life.

"What are you two whispering about?" Aisha asks "Anyway, as much as I'm enjoying this—I have to go home to my husband and children"
"I'll go with you"

"I could drop you off" Jazeel volunteers and honestly I felt like strangling him right then and there.
"Thank you but we're both going to the same destination, it's better I go with her"

"Okay"
"Bye then"

We escorted them out and decided to just head home instead too.
"I think that was a success" he exclaims excitedly as he drives.

As much as this night meant to me—Jazeel's sister liking me, that was the last thing on my mind. All I could think about was Tariq and how he completely took no notice of me, it hurt me. I wonder why he did though, could it be because of what happened years ago?

"Are you okay?"
I nod "Just feeling a bit dizzy"

"Rest your head a bit then".

Amaya.

As much as I want to take credit for Tariq's appearance, I can't. I was taken aback by his presence even more so when he asked to speak to me privately.

I know you're curious about him. Who he is, why he has such a hold on me, What his link is with Sana but all in due time.

"Thanks for meeting with me" he says when I sit across him.
"Make it fast, I have to go home and prepare for Iftar"
He smiles "You've always liked to"
