Jazeel.

She sighs but says nothing.
I continue watching not uttering a word.

"I don't think this is a good idea" she finally speaks up.
I mute the tv and look at her "Why not?"
She shakes her head "I don't trust her, I don't think she has good intentions".

I chuckle "So? You think she's planning something? What exactly?"
"I don't know but it's all too suspicious. I think there's something going on"

"Like I'm a part of the plan".
She shakes her head.
I take a deep breath "Amaya, it really seems like she wants to fix things so before you make up your mind about it, just give it a chance".

"I know Sana but if you really think she has good intentions then I'll trust you, not her. I'm choosing to trust you if you also believe she has no bad intentions".

I'd be lying if I said I do.
If anything, I cannot stop suspecting that she's plotting something but a part of me desperately wants to believe what she's saying even when I know it's not true. And more than anything that part of me wants Amaya to stay. I want them to be friends again.

I nod "I believe she's being sincere" I lie.
She smiles "If you believe in her then so do I. How have things been between you two anyway?"

I sigh "I don't think it's going to last".
"Giving up so soon?"
I shrug.
"Do you love her?"

I nod "You know I do, Maya".
"Then give her another chance, we're all human and we make mistakes".
"No, her mistake would be the fact that she thought she could marry someone she didn't love so she wouldn't lose him".

She shakes her head "Sana, has strong feelings for you".
I scoff "Great choice of words, she has strong feelings and that's it".
"You think I can try something later? When we're all together?"

I tilt my head looking at her unsure if it's something I'd like to participate in "We haven't been talking".
"And we'll fix that. Do you trust me?"
I nod "More than anyone else".

"Good, I got you. I'll do whatever I can to fix this, even if it means being friends with your wife again. If it will make you happy, I will do it wholeheartedly".

I just stare at her.
"What?"
I shake my head smiling "I'm just happy you're here. It's the first time since she got back that I'm actually having good conversation in this house".

"I think you're exaggerating a little too much but have you spoken to the guy you bought the fridge from?"
I groan remembering it.
I bought a fridge last month but it's already malfunctioning so I'm returning it, thankfully it has a five months warranty.

"I forgot, I've been busy with work".
"Do you have anything planned for this afternoon?"

"Nope, Ersana is at a friend's place and I took the rest of the day off. I was feeling suffocated at work".
She smiles "Let's go handle the fridge issue and then we can stop by to either eat or order lunch, what do you think?"

"As long as you're my company".
"Great, I'll get my bag and veil" she rushes in.

Maya seems really motivated to help Ersana and I fix our relationship but there's nothing I can do anymore. I've said my piece and I'm waiting to see what she does next. My wife isn't someone who takes people walking away from her lightly.

"So, will you at least give her a chance?" Amaya asks as we step out of the car.

I look towards Sana's car "I am, talking to her that night was just a warning. I don't want this marriage to end but if she doesn't put effort I'm not fighting for it either".
I start walking towards the house but she pulls me by my arm "Okay, let me talk to her".
