"You're sweeter than candy, but too devilish to eat. Walk like an angel, talk like an angel, but I got wise... You're the devil, and I'm so over it. So, wake me up when it's over, and tell me that it was all just a dream."
I stood at the lab bench, carefully taking inventory of the chemicals for today's experiment. It was supposed to be a routine task from yesterday, but Seokjin's presence made it anything but. After what Yoongi told me, everything was making me nervous.
"Hey, Y/n," Seokjin chirped, sliding up next to me with a wide grin. "Need any help with that? Can I help you?" Seokjin asks, inching closer to me with every step.
I glanced at him, my smile strained as I furrowed my brows. "No, Seokjin, I've got it under control. Thanks." I replied a bit colder than I meant to, but after everything Yoongi told me, I wasn't eager to become best friends with him. But, that didn't mean I couldn't be civil. "Thanks though," I add, to not seem rude.
He frowned. "You sure? It's pretty high up, and I'm taller than you. I can reach it."
"No, I've got it," I reassure him. "Really."
Seokjin didn't seem to take the hint. Instead, he leaned in closer, his breath warm against my ear. "Are you sure? I'd be happy to assist you in any way I can. It's our job after all, we're supposed to work together."
My slight irritation simmered beneath the surface. I took a step back, trying to put some distance between us. "I said I'm fine, Seokjin. Please, just let me concentrate. You can start the inventory for the other closet across the hall; that would help."
But Seokjin persisted, his hand reaching out to brush against mine as he reached for the bottle of chemicals next to me. "I can't help but worry about you, Y/n. You seem a bit tense. Is everything okay?"
I clenched my jaw, forcing a smile. "I'm fine, Seokjin. Really. I just need to focus on this inventory."
But Seokjin didn't seem to get the message. He continued to hover around me, offering unnecessary assistance and unwelcome attention. My frustration grew with each passing moment, until finally, my wearing patience couldn't take it anymore. He steps closer to me once again as I purposely step away. I had a suspicious feeling he was doing it on purpose, so when I tested that theory by stepping away again and he still followed, I knew he was doing it purposely.
