"Sometimes when pushed into a corner, we will go the distance to ensure our own desires are met before considering others..."
"This is all?" I ask Jungkook when I see the very few boxes of his belongings sitting in the living room of my apartment.
"Yep. I told you I didn't have that much. We all have most of the stuff you've got here already at our dorms; the cooking and cleaning supplies and whatnot," he explains. "So I just brought my basic stuff like my clothes, toiletries, and some decor. And my air purifiers, because those are very important."
I nod. "Oh yes, very important," I sarcastically agree. "I guess you will be spending the night tonight then."
"Yep! This honestly won't take that long to unpack. But what are you making for dinner? It smells amazing!" He compliments.
"Oh, thank you, I'll take that," I reply jokingly, smiling goofily as I shrug to shrug it off as if to say 'Whatever, no big.' I turned back toward the kitchen. "I'm gonna be honest, I didn't make a super fancy meal or anything since I was planning to help you get your stuff settled, so I just made nachos. But if you don't like the toppings I put on you can pick them off." I laugh. "I won't be offended, I'm sure not everyone likes the same combination as me."
"What'd you put on it?" Jungkook asks.
"Chicken, beans, onions, bell peppers, corn, and olives. You know, on top of the other stuff; chips and cheese. There's salsa in the fridge if you want any..."
But to my surprise, Jungkook's brown doe eyes lit up and he licked his lips. "That sounds delicious! I'm starving."
Yoongi chuckled. "When are you not? You don't have to worry, he's basically a human garbage disposal. He'll eat anything that we won't."
I avoided making eye contact with Yoongi as I replied, "Good to know. They're ready, though, if you guys want to eat first."
"Sure."
"Works for me."
I simply nodded and invited them into the kitchen as I handed them each a plate and let them serve up as much as they wanted, offering them drinks and silverware. Oh, and napkins, because nachos can always get messy.
"Pizza last night and nachos tonight?" Yoongi asks after we've sat down at the table, "Are you on an American-style kick or something?"
I kept my eyes down low as I answered, "I don't know, I was just craving it tonight. Pizza was easy last night since it was just us. I didn't feel like cooking, you know that," I light snap, not exactly meaning to. God, why was I being so mean to him? It's not really his fault in this situation...but then again... "Besides, I'll make real Asian food tomorrow. Last night and tonight are extenuating circumstances. You know this."
