"I got to admit, I'm surprised that you called me to hang out." Taeyong said as he sat across the table from Jungkook.

It was a late afternoon when Jungkook called Taeyong, asking if he wanted to have a late lunch with him. And because he had nothing else to do, he accepted his invitation. Having grown pretty close to him. And seeing as both groups were pretty close to each other due to them being together, he saw Jungkook as another dear friend of his.

"Yeah, I'm glad you actually came." Jungkook replied back, happily as they waited for their food to arrive. "But I must confess something..... I didn't call you here just to hang out....at least that's not the only reason I wanted to see you."

To this, Taeyong was a bit shocked after sipping a little of his water. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, placing the glass back down.

"Oh? What's wrong?"

"Nothings wrong, per se." Jungkook reassured, waving his hand. He let out a slight chuckle as he fiddled with his fingers. "I....Jisoo told me about the proposal, which I want to say congratulations, by the way."

"Thank you." Taeyong smiled at him kindly, appreciating the gesture.

"You're welcome." He replied back, nodding a bit. "I guess I just wanted to tell you.....it's better if I tell you a story, first."

"Okay." Taeyong mumbled, paying more attention to him. Sensing how serious he was being.

"When I first made it into Bighit, Jisoo and I didn't know each other until we were placed in BTS together." Jungkook retold the story of the start of their friendship. "Well, Jisoo didn't know who I was until then....but I knew who she was. With her being the only female trainee there, at the time."

Taeyong softly grinned when he said that. He remembered a time when Jisoo told him and Ten about that. All of her memories as the only female trainee, being mistaken as a boy because she never talked to anyone, how she met the members. It was all sweet to him.

"But even then.....I knew that I loved her and she didn't even give me the time of day yet." Jungkook confessed. Which hit him like a curveball. But instead of saying anything, he just let him continue. "I didn't know it at the time.... But Jisoo was already the most important girl in my life to me. Second to my mother, of course."

Jungkook chuckled a bit as he remained quiet for a moment before continuing on. "And the day she and I found out we were gonna be in the same group, she spoke to me...I didn't say much to her but she didn't care......it was like it didn't matter to her."

One thing both men had in common. Their love for Jisoo's determination with everything she did. Even when it came to making friends. It was sweet to see it play out in front of them.

"And after that....Jisoo really became one of the most important person in my life." Jungkook said in a soft tone. "We'd do everything together....go to school together....graduate, debut, hang out....hell, we were even each other's first kisses....not to make this awkward for you."

"You're good." Taeyong assured him, having no hard feelings.

Jungkook gave him an appreciative look as he folded his hands on the table. "I guess the reason I'm telling you this is because.....You're the lucky guy who's gonna spend the rest of your life with her. Something that I've always wanted to do but never had the courage to do so."

And that was another curveball that hit Taeyong. To hear that Jungkook was just as in love with Jisoo as he is. Though he couldn't blame him. It was so easy to fall in love with her. Not just because she is an enchanting woman, but because she has the most beautiful soul anyone will ever come across.

The type of soul that people come across once every millennium. One that both men were fortunate enough to be able to have in their lives. So he couldn't blame him, at all.

"For so long, I was terrified of letting her go." Jungkook spoke even more, looking Taeyong deeply into his eyes. To show him how much this really means to him to tell him this. "I was terrified that Jisoo would find someone else and one day, she won't need me anymore......But as I grew older, I realized that the fear of losing her was really just the fear of losing her to the wrong person. Because I've seen her when she's heartbroken...and it tears at my soul to see her in pain."

Taeyong looked at him with sympathetic warmth. He wasn't going to lie, he shared his sentiments. He felt the same way about Sunmi. And although he knows that Mark would never hurt her in any way on purpose, that fear of letting her go and grow up, especially if they've grown older together.....it's scary.

"I know you'll do right by Jisoo.....Because with you, she's been the happier I've ever seen her ever." Jungkook added with a soft smile. "More happy than I could ever make her if I was in your position. And by telling you this, I know this is the last thing I needed to do in order to let her go fully.....because now, I don't have to be terrified anymore......I can finally rest easy that she'll be just fine. And I want you to know that I will forever be grateful of you for being the reason she will always be happy......for becoming apart of her lifeline."

That warmed Taeyong's heart to the fullest. He felt like Jungkook was giving him his blessing to marry Jisoo and something in him felt thankful for that. Mainly because he knows how hard it is to let go or to see someone he cared about so much, go through tough times. Only to finally find happiness.

He placed his hand over his own heart and gave Jungkook a little nod. "Thank you for trusting me with Jisoo.....I promise you, I will never hurt her."

Jungkook sincerely grinned at him. knowing that Taeyong was a man of his word. Which is why he was okay with losing Jisoo to him. Because he knows he would do right by her. And that's all that matters to him. That someone would be able to do right by her heart way better than he would have been able to.

After all, Jungkook would gladly break his own heart for her. If it meant she would remain the happiest she's ever been.
