"Oh my, if she isn't Miss Korea, I don't know who is."
Seeing Yoon dressed in a lime- green spring coat, her grandmother, Ok Soon, smiled broadly and spoke.
"But isn't this too expensive?"
"The neighborhood shop gave it to me at a good price. When I saw it on the mannequin, I thought it was perfect for our Yoon. Do you think you're not pretty? Or that something about you is lacking? Dress up like this and go out."
Ok Soon kept laughing heartily, satisfied with Yoon's reflection in the mirror.
"Yes. By the way, have you found a moving company?"
A few weeks later, when the lease was up, they had to move to another villa. Her grandfather, Ho Sik, managed to secure a cheaper long- term lease on a decent villa.
"How much stuff do we have that we should throw everything away and go? Mr. Lee from the hardware store said he'd lend us a truck."
"But still...."
"When we move there. It will be less embarrassing when Young Hoon comes over. It was terribly awkward having a house in this condition."
Yoon had broken up with Young Hoon, her boyfriend, not long ago, but she hadn't yet told Ok Soon.
Ho Sik and Ok Soon had been planning to move since last year, thinking that Young Hoon's expression seemed off whenever he visited.
Thanks to the thriftily saved fixed deposit that matured, they were able to move from the over- 30- year- old semi- basement villa they were currently living in to a decent two- story villa.
"But why on earth don't you come home these days?"
"I have to go to a bicycle club every weekend...."
Yoon mumbled.
"That darn boy and his obsession with bicycles. Isn't he thinking about something else?"
"...."
Yoon avoided Ok Soon's gaze.
"No, that's not it. The boy who chased after our Yoon because he liked her so much, would he think about something else? Just a thought. You should hurry up and go. You're going to be late."
"Yes, I'll be back."
Yoon said goodbye to Ok Soon and left the house.
– Ding!
It was a text from Seo Ji Man's wife, Kim Seo Jung.
'What on earth does she want me to think about?'
A few months ago, Seo Jung suddenly contacted her. It had been almost 10 years since she left the house in Seongbuk- dong.
Yoon didn't want to see Seo Jung. The mere thought of it made her tremble.
So when she refused, Seo Jung even came to her school. Yoon was startled to see Kim Seo Jung's secretary as she was leaving work, almost to the point of collapsing.
In the car, there was Seo Jung, sitting stiffly, just as eerie as she used to be, who still appeared in Yoon's dreams and brought nightmares.
The fierce look that used to paralyze Yoon was still the same. Even at the age of 24, it was still hard to face Seo Jung.
'Are you still a temporary teacher? Tsk, tsk, tsk, you should quit and get married.'
Seo Jung said, throwing a photo at her.
'This is Cha Yu Hyun, the executive of Woo Sung Construction.'
Yoon was dumbfounded when Seo Jung appeared after 10 years and threw a photo at her, telling her to get married.
