Dragging her exhausted body home, Seo Yoon's eyes welled up with tears at the sight of Ok Soon and Ho Sik.

Seeing their wrinkled faces made her heart ache. They had been unable to attend the engagement ceremony of their only granddaughter, whom they had raised with difficulty.

"Was the engagement ceremony successful? Did they do your makeup there? I hardly recognize you. Our granddaughter really feels like Miss Korea."

Ok Soon welcomed her with an intentionally brighter smile.

"But why are you about to cry?"

Ok Soon's wrinkled, withered hand stroked Seo Yoon's face. Ho Sik just stood there, coughing awkwardly.

"You both should have been at the engagement ceremony...."

Seo Yoon dropped her head. The engagement ceremony, which her real family members could not even attend, was truly absurd.

"If we had gone there, it would have just hurt your reputation."

Ok Soon muttered, looking down at the floor.

"What are you talking about? How could it hurt my reputation?"

Seo Yoon grabbed Ok Soon's hand, feeling upset.

"Don't talk about it. Don't tell your future husband for the time being, either."

Ok Soon wiped Seo Yoon's tears with her sleeve.

"You said your future husband is Kang Hyun, the actor?"

Ho Sik, who had been leaning back and looking out the window, opened his mouth.

"Yes."

"But I've heard people say Kang Hyun is a playboy. They say he has a terrible personality."

Ho Sik had asked around about Kang Hyun upon hearing his name. But hearing the rumors about Kang Hyun made him more worried.

"There are many false rumors, too."

"Isn't it true that he's not an ordinary person and has a lot of women problems?"

Ho Sik's face was filled with worry. Then, he ended up clutching his chest again.

"Ah, dear."

Ho Sik felt suffocated, thinking that his innocent granddaughter's fate had been twisted again because he was fooled like an idiot.

No matter how he thought about it, they were not the kind of people to give Seo Yoon a good married life.

"If only I hadn't been deceived."

Ho Sik went into his room, blaming himself again. Seo Yoon watched his retreating figure with worry.

"I don't know if that gentleman isn't going to fall ill like this. But what kind of person is he really? He should be good to you."

"I'll try to get along well. Don't worry too much."

"That's right. Wherever you go, I've never seen anyone who dislikes our Seo Yoon. In this neighborhood, everyone only praises you. They say you're kind, beautiful, and there's no place you fall short. Right now, there might be no affection between you two, but later on, he will definitely cherish you."

"Um......, yes."

At Ok Soon's words, Seo Yoon merely fumbled. It was unimaginable that Kang Hyun would cherish her.

"Oh, grandma, this."

Seo Yoon pulled out a ring case from her bag.

"Oh my, is it an engagement ring? It looks very expensive even just at a glance?"
