Look in the mirror of my mind
Turnin' the pages of my life
Walkin' the path so many paced a million times
Drown out the voices in the air
On a lovely day in which the sun is shining brightly and the wind is whistling, everyone would be outside, however, a crashing shuttle scared nearby neighbors to retreat into their homes. A G.U.N shuttle slides through the forest into a nearby swamp, it's completely stopped by the thick mud. Slowly it starts to sink with the inhabitants still inside. An emergency escape door flies off the hinges and out crawls an injured alien with four smaller ones on his back.
His skin was a strange combination of gray and pale purple, each limb had at least one spike poking out, posing a threat to anyone who dared to intimidate him. Red accents complimented his skin throughout his limbs, shoulders, and head. He climbed to the top of the shuttle with his three-fingered hands and two-toed feet, once he assessed the situation he was in, he jumped off the sinking automobile.
Landing on the ground, he and the little ones sluggishly watched the only shuttle, their only transportation, sink into the deep mud pond. As much as they all wanted to save the shuttle, they were all far too tired to do anything to save it. And with their last bit of energy, they all fainted from exhaustion.
Their tired and unconscious bodies lay on the ground for the next four weeks, unmoving and unbothered.
When the alien woke up, it was nighttime. He was the only one awake at the time, the little ones still asleep around him. The only thing he felt at the moment was an immense hunger for strange food. He looked around, of course, the swamp wouldn't provide food so he would have to take a long walk to find some. But for some reason he didn't want to leave these strange creatures by themselves, so he picked them up, one with his tail and three in his arms.
He tried to remember where and why these creatures were with him, but nothing came to mind. As he walked, he also tried to recall why he was in a shuttle and where he was going, but once again, he couldn't remember. Something wasn't right, why would he be in a shuttle with four small strange creatures and somehow crash land into a swamp? Did he even know how to drive?
All he could remember was his name, Eclipse. What an interesting name.
Well, that question was answered when he looked back at the mud that the automobile sank into. He continued to walk away with the little ones. Nothing that he saw looked edible or delicious, none of this was going to satisfy his hunger. At this point, he was going to starve to death with the little ones following shortly after.
But he wasn't going to give up so easily and especially not when he had four children to look after. He walked and looked more, and he came across some small berries, but there were very few, it wouldn't be enough for all of them. That and it didn't smell good, his 'children' probably wouldn't enjoy them.
He tried to use his sense of smell but came across nothing good. If there was nothing edible from the swamp he might as well leave for better chances of food.
As he walked more and more through the murky waters, he noticed there was less water and trees above it. There was a lot more solid land too, so that was something good, he hated feeling something weird under his feet every ten steps. The ground also felt soft and comfortable to walk on, he liked it. There was no longer any dense fog either so he could finally see where he was going and what was ahead of him.
Shortly later, he found a thin trail of dirt so he hopped on it and followed it. Little did he know it would take him to a small cottage in the middle of nowhere. The windows were glowing with light and he could've sworn he saw a shadow move inside. He contemplated going inside and raiding their food or finding somewhere else for food.
