Warning: Blood and body horror!
Somebody shine a light I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
The next week was a difficult week for Hope, she had finally gotten the materials she needed to make the shell for the aircraft. She need only to cut, bend, and meld together the pieces and add them to the shuttle. Along with that were some tweaks and adjustments that needed to be made to make sure it was as perfect it can be. She didn't ask for any help since she knew Eclipse wouldn't know a thing about making a shell for a vehicle. All he could do to help was pass equipment and pieces to her, hold objects in place so it wouldn't all on her, and be the fire watcher.
He held a fire blanket in his hands remembering what she told him. He was assigned as the fire watcher, if she or anything in the room caught on fire, all he had to do was throw the blanket on top of it. Supposedly, the blanket would either stop the fire or keep it from spreading. It was a simple and easy job that anyone could do.
Eclipse watched the vehicle come together and couldn't believe this is how close he was to coming home. Except he still had very little memories of his life or what or where home was. He tried all he could to remember his life by asking his children, but they made little to no sense so it was a waste.
He wasn't going to leave when he didn't know where he was going and why, or what was waiting for him. He looked at Hope who was concentrated on her work, being careful of what she was doing. He didn't want to leave her, not after all the time they had spent together and the little ones were getting quite fond of her. If they all left, no doubt his children would feel depressed for a long while. He'd probably feel the same way. He just couldn't imagine leaving and not feel like something was missing.
She has her own life and he had his, there was no way she is going to drop everything to join him. He didn't want to force her to come with him on a journey to who knows where to do something that he doesn't even know or plan. He didn't like the idea of leaving the one friend he's had so far. But not everything lasts forever, not even friendship.
It pains him to even think about leaving . Eclipse looked at Hope again, this time she carefully put two large pieces together as she put on the heavy and prospective mask. He didn't say anything to her so as to not ruin her concentration and he knew she couldn't hear him with her suit and mask on. He recalled a time he tried talking to her while her mask was on and she seemingly ignored him. Turned out she couldn't hear well with the suit on, so he waited until she was done to say something.
When she finished welding the two large pieces of metal together she stepped back and took the mask off, inspecting her work. From the looks of it, she decided to call a break as she set down the mask and took off her suit hanging both items on a nearby hook. She put her gloves down on her desk and picked up her water bottle standing next to the gloves.
"Hope, remember when we first met and you said I could stay until the shuttle was fixed than I have to leave?" Eclipse was kicking at nothing in particular, just the floor.
"Yes... What're you getting at?" Hope asked turning around.
"What if... I... I don't want to leave? I still haven't gotten any more memories since that day and at this rate, I don't know how long it'll take for all my memories to come back. If at all. Once the shuttle is complete, I won't know where to go or what to do. I just don't know what to do..." Eclipse looked down hiding his saddened face from his friend, not wanting her to see him like this.
