After dinner, I decided to retreat to the balcony since everyone was engrossed in their conversations, ranging from business talks to women's gossiping. I mean, who wants to be the center of someone's bored gaze, right? I know I'm pretty... (Or maybe there's a different reason, hehe.)
Tonight, it seems like the wind is reveling in its freedom. I sensed someone staring at me, and the thought alone sent shivers down my spine. Scanning my surroundings, I found no one, so I brushed off the feeling and closed my eyes, relishing the tranquil atmosphere.
Suddenly, I felt someone's breath on my neck, and the recurrence of this incident sent a chill down my spine. I squeezed my eyes shut, gripping the railing tightly, not wanting to know who it was, though I had a hunch.
His hands clasped the railing beside mine, and his presence loomed just behind me. I could smell his intoxicating scent, which oddly felt comforting. Oh my, what am I even thinking?
Snapping out of my reverie, I felt his lips on my earlobe, lightly nibbling it as he spoke, dripping with sarcasm, "So, my dear friend, nice to meet you..."
I flinched slightly, turning to face him, my hands instinctively reaching for his chest in an attempt to push him away. But let's be real, who am I kidding? This guy's a bulky hulk.
Advika: "What's with your obsession with always standing behind me? Are you a ghost or something?"
As I looked up at him, his smirk widened, confirming my suspicions that he found amusement in my discomfort.
His deep voice rumbled as he replied, "Oh, I assure you, I'm no ghost. Just someone who enjoys the view from behind."
I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my nervousness. "Well, find another view, because I'm not interested in being your scenery."
He chuckled, the sound sending a strange flutter through me. "You're feisty, I'll give you that. But you can't deny the chemistry between us."
I scoffed, crossing my arms. "Chemistry? More like irritation."
His gaze softened, and for a moment, I found myself lost in the depths of his eyes. "Maybe. Or maybe it's something more."
He leaned in closer, his eyes intense. "Maybe I seek vengeance against you," he said, catching me off guard.
I glared at him, shaking my head. "I haven't wronged you, and whatever happened earlier, YOU DESERVED IT." I said my index finger towards him.
Swiftly, he grasped my finger, twisting my arm behind me, causing me to wince in pain. I felt something cold against my skin and glanced down to see a gun.
My breath caught in my throat. "What the..." I screamed internally, feeling paralyzed with fear.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? Cat got your tongue?" he whispered, sending shivers down my spine.
I swallowed hard, trying to regain composure. "I-I'll remove it," I stammered.
"Remove what, sweetheart?" he taunted, tracing the gun along my neck, sending goosebumps across my skin.
"Let me go," she wriggled in his arms. He smirked, taking a few steps back while keeping his gun in place. As she turned to leave, he called her name for the first time, stirring something in her stomach.
"We'll meet again soon," he said.
She closed her eyes tightly, trying to contain her emotions, and left without even a glance back at him. Chuckling, he stared at the moon, perplexed by the sudden surge of feelings in his heart. He shrugged off his thoughts, deciding to leave, but his gaze fell upon an earring lying on the ground - one pair was missing, or rather, the owner had left one pair behind. Recognizing it as Advika Bakshi's, he pocketed it.
Later, as both families prepared to depart, he noticed Avdika wasn't with her family. Shrugging off the thought, both families bid farewell to each other and left the venue.
At the Agarwal house, Akhil emerged from the bathroom wearing only a towel loosely draped around his waist, while another towel was in his right hand, used to dry his hair. His phone rang, revealing a call from Vihaan. He answered and moved towards the balcony, where he could hear Vihaan's voice from the other side.
Vihaan: "Bro, I've mailed you the list of new worker. Just text me whom you want to choose. Their qualifications are also included. Do check it once."
Akhil: "Hmm... Okay," he replied, pouring himself a glass of wine.
Vihaan: "And how was the party?" Vihaan teased.
Akhil: "Kind of... good," he said, recalling the girl's frightened expression.
Vihaan: "Oh my, what's this? I was expecting the usual answer, 'boring, obviously'," Vihaan mimicked in a cold tone, imitating Akhil's usual response.
Akhil: "Shut up, will you," Akhil snapped, growing irritated.
Vihaan: "Anyway, what happened with the girl who slapped you?" Vihaan prodded, knowing it would get a reaction from Akhil.
Akhil: "I dealt with her. She'll face the wrath of the devil himself," Akhil seethed, recalling the incident from earlier, smirking slightly as he remembered her scared face.
Vihaan: "Okay, okay, I pity her now," Vihaan said, trying to diffuse the tension.
Akhil: "Just leave it," Akhil snapped, frustration evident in his voice, before abruptly ending the call and downing his wine in one gulp. "I'll make you regret it, Advika Bakshi. You dared to hurt my ego. Now, you'll see my wrath."

Advika's POV:
I entered my room bidding goodnight to my family. I left just five minutes earlier, knowing they were about to leave, so I didn't inform them; otherwise, I would have to endure seeing his face again, which I have no interest in.I glanced at Buddy, who was enjoying his meal and occasionally looking at me as I rambled on. I sighed and looked at him.
"Do you know I met that rich brat? And guess what? That man has a gun... Yes, that Hulk has a gun. Who is he? I don't think he's a normal person."
Author's POV:
The buddy listened intently as if she were telling him a story. She cleaned and played with him for a while before checking her emails. She had sent applications to four companies two days ago, but two of them rejected her due to her lack of experience. This left her feeling a little sad and angry, as she had just graduated from college and was hoping to gain experience from them, but they were not willing to help. After closing her laptop upon seeing the rejection from the third company, she sighed and glanced over to see her buddy cuddling with Coco, evidently his best friend. She smiled and gently patted her buddy's head, prompting him to jump onto her lap and settle beside her, ready to sleep.
Together, they cuddled and drifted off to dreamland.
