Sitting in front of the dressing table mirror, Advika wore her earrings while her sister-in-law helped her to pin her hair. She looked stunning in a royal blue saree, exuding an ethereal charm.
Aakriti teased, "Stop making those faces; you look like a mad monkey."
Advika pouted in response, and Aakriti continued, "You know we're all here for you. The decision is yours. Besides, Akhil isn't bad looking, and this meeting doesn't mean you're marrying him."
Advika nodded slightly, silently cursing Akhil in multiple languages she didn't even know. She had planned to run away in the early morning, but Saanvi intercepted her, glaring as if she knew her daughter's intentions. After much emotional drama, Advika reluctantly agreed to meet Akhil's family.
As she got ready, Aakriti left, and Advika's nerves began to show for the first time.
"Oo boy," she muttered to herself, "it feels like I'm going for a viva."
She started biting her nails until her mom knocked on her door. Saanvi entered and observed Advika's awkward walk in the saree.
"Stop walking like a penguin," she chided gently.
Advika pouted, "How do you expect me to walk in this? What if it slips? I'd rather wear jeans and a top."
Saanvi raised an eyebrow, silencing her daughter, and then chuckled as she left the room.
She entered the drawing room and smiled at the couples who gave her an adoring smile. She glanced at the entrance where Akhil entered, looking too handsome in a black shirt with sleeves folded, paired with black jeans. He smiled at everyone and took a seat beside his parents, positioned across from Advika. Catching her glance, he raised one eyebrow and smirked. Coming to her senses, she glared at him.
Sumitra: "You are looking too pretty, Advika," Sumitra complimented. Advika muttered a small thank you, feeling nervous and suffocated as all eyes were on her.
Saanvi: "Advika, why don't you show him your room?" Saanvi suggested. Advika looked at her mom with wide eyes, wondering why he would want to tour her room when it was just like any other.
She thought and got up when her mom gave her a smiley look, which only she knew was a warning. She signaled for him to follow her.
They reached her room, and Akhil closed the door, causing her to squint her eyes. "Why did you close it?" she asked. Akhil smirked and started walking towards her, making her take steps back.
"To have some privacy, Mrs. Agarwal," Akhil said. Advika's back touched the wall, making her a little scared and nervous. He put his hand beside her head, trapping her between him and the wall.
Advika: "It's Ms. Bakshi, and in your dream, I will accept this marriage proposal."
He came closer to her, causing her hands to land on his chest in an attempt to push him. But it was not possible to push a bulky hulk like him.
Advika: "Step back or I'll scream."
Akhil: "Go ahead."
He said, nuzzling his face on her neck, making her shiver. His warm breath fanned on her exposed neck, making her legs too weak to stand.
Advika: "S-step b-back."
She closed her eyes tight as she shuddered. Akhil whispered in her ear, "You have to say yes by hook or crook. I told you I won't leave you this easily. You have to pay for it."
Advika: "I won't, and besides, it was your mistake. How many times do I have to remind you to keep your ego aside and accept it? You just want to become a CEO, that's why you're marrying me. I know it, so stay in your limit."
She said and pushed him back. This time he left her and took some steps back, glaring at her. She got scared after seeing him but didn't show it. She too glared at him and was going to leave when,
Akhil: "Fine then, I thought only you would suffer, but I guess now I have to involve your family too."
Her steps halted in her tracks, but she didn't turn to him. He continued, "And you might have already guessed that... I am not just a normal working person."
He said the last sentence in her ear, and she could feel his presence too close to her body. She already guessed that he might have some connection to illegal business as she saw his gun on the party day.
He wrapped his veiny hands around her stomach, backhugging her as he rested his chin on her shoulder. She didn't push him away this time, as she was lost in thoughts.
Akhil: "You're a good daughter to your parents, right? So listen to me, princess."
She pushed him when he gave a quick suck on her earlobe. She turned around, glaring at him.
Advika: "You're an egotistic man."
Before Akhil could say something, a sudden knock on the door grabbed their attention. She glared at him and opened the door to see Akriti. Akriti's face turned concerned upon seeing her dull expression.
Akriti whispered, "Is everything okay?"
Advika nodded, giving her an assuring smile.
"Alright, come downstairs soon," Akriti said before leaving them alone.
Advika held the doorknob, opening it wide, gesturing for him to leave. Akhil raised an eyebrow, surprised by her audacity. He rooted in his place, making Advika hiss in anger.
"Mr. Akhil Agarwal, LEAVE," she emphasized the word 'leave,' knowing it would trigger him.
He glared at her, only she knew how much she was trembling inside. As he left, she shut the door behind him and leaned against it, taking deep breaths. She felt movement near her feet, and a smile spread across her face. She picked up Buddy, who hugged her immediately, as if sensing her beign upset. She hugged him back, feeling relaxed with him in her arms.
After a few minutes, she adjusted her saree and left the room.
As she descended the stairs, she heard the laughter of the family, portraying a scene of happiness. Saanvi noticed Advika and approached her with a smile.
Saanvi: "Advika, what do you think about the proposal?"
Advika glanced at her mother, who looked overly happy, and then at her father, who gave her an assuring smile. She smiled and nodded slowly, prompting cheers from everyone for the new couple.
Advika noticed someone's eyes on her and turned to see Akhil staring at her. She glared at him, to which he smirked and winked. Gritting her teeth, she headed towards the kitchen to avoid breaking his smirking face.
Meanwhile, Akhil made his way to the kitchen amid the family's busy celebrations. He observed Advika drinking water while cursing him under her breath. Leaning against the door, he continued to listen.
Advika: "That arrogant, bulky hulk! Who does he think he is? I'll break his handsome face. He's the most egotistical person I've ever met. I'll show him that Advika Kabir Bakshi is no less. I'll make him regret it, I swear."
Turning around, Advika found a dark pair of eyes watching her like she was prey. "His prey". She approached him.
Advika: "It's convenient that you're here. I don't have to waste my energy again. I'm glad you heard my thoughts, and if you didn't, I don't care."
She emphasized the last three words, moving closer to him. Aware of her actions, she smiled and stepped back to create distance. However, Akhil grabbed her bare waist and pinned her to the kitchen slab. Despite her glare, he tightened his grip.
Akhil: "Welcome to my life, Mrs. Advika Akhil Agarwal."
He whispered in her ear, biting it slightly, before proudly leaving for the drawing room, aware of his power over her. Meanwhile, Advika struggled to comprehend whether it was the ear bite or the name that made her weak, her heart beating rapidly. Placing her hand on her chest, she wondered, "What's wrong with you?" She glanced at Akhil, who took a seat beside his mother.
"Shameless creature"
