"Just when you think everything is falling into place, beware—the storm is always closer than it seems."
After leaving the office, they drove in silence to Green Palace, a luxury restaurant nestled away from the city’s chaos. The ride was quiet—not uncomfortable, but strangely peaceful. Still, there was something heavy in the air.
Akhil stared out the window, lost in thought. His jaw was clenched, fingers occasionally twitching as if he were battling something within himself.
Advika noticed but chose to stay silent. Now wasn’t the time.
Inside the restaurant, soft lighting glinted off the red wine Akhil sipped slowly.
“Everything good?” she asked softly, watching him as he momentarily stopped tapping his fingers on the table.
He looked at her—with emotions she couldn’t quite read.
She raised an eyebrow in silent question.
Akhil gave a curt nod.
Something’s off, she thought. But she let it go. For now.
Dinner arrived shortly after. Just as the first bite touched her lips, her phone buzzed with a message. She glanced at Akhil, who kept eating, pretending not to notice—but she wasn’t fooled.
She opened the message.
A small smile crept onto her lips. It was him. The one person who’d been missing from her life for years and had finally returned.
She sensed Akhil stiffen. He poked his tongue into his cheek, jaw ticking.
“Who is it?” he asked, voice too casual, eyes locked onto hers with a fire that sent a shiver down her spine.
“Huh?” she replied innocently, pretending not to notice the storm brewing in his tone.
He didn’t say a word, just stared.
Feeling wicked, she leaned forward and smirked. “Someone special.”
Akhil raised an eyebrow, but there was nothing playful about it.
“Hmm… Mr. Agarwal, you can’t interfere in your PA’s personal life,” she teased, keeping a straight face, then giggled.
The rest of dinner passed with her teasing him playfully while he remained silent. But she mistook his silence for tolerance.
Oh, how wrong she was.

Later…
“We should go home,” Advika murmured, her tone shifting when she saw his expression darken.
He didn’t respond. Just stood and opened the car door for her.
The moment he slipped behind the wheel, the air turned thick. His aura shifted—no longer calm, but dangerous. His knuckles turned white around the steering wheel.
Advika swallowed hard.
As they reached a more secluded road, he suddenly pulled over.
Before she could speak, he unbuckled his seatbelt and turned toward her. His eyes were darker than night, jaw tight, energy on edge.
“W-what’s wrong?” she whispered.
He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his hand reached for her jaw, fingers gliding down her neck, pausing over her thudding pulse.
“You tell me, Advika,” he murmured, his voice low and deadly.
“Nothing,” she breathed, holding his gaze.
