Chapter 5

After checking his emails, he was about to close the laptop when suddenly he received an email from Vihaan regarding the application of a newcomer, which he might have forgotten to send earlier. He opened it, realizing it was the application of only one candidate. A smirk appeared on his face.

Akhil: "Oh, guess the world is really small. It'll be fun to see her. I'll show her who Akhil Agarwal is. She dared to mess with me."

He sent the list of selected candidates to Vihaan, closed the laptop, and drifted off to sleep, thoughts of her lingering in his mind.

Advika woke up to the sound of her ringing phone. She checked it and placed it back, only to jolt up with a start, waking her puppy in the process. She screamed excitedly, then quickly lowered her voice upon hearing a knock on the door and her name being called. Panicked, she glanced at her buddy, who looked at her with sleepy doe eyes, making her smile.
Aahan: "Advika,are you okay?Open the door baccha."
Advika: "Yes, bhai? Just a second."

She said, carrying her buddy and hiding behind the sofa. Opening the door, she found her whole family entering her room, causing her to step back in surprise. She looked at her buddy hiding behind the sofa and then at her family, who were equally surprised.

Saanvi: "What happened? Why did you scream?"

Advika: "Oh, you know Agarwal company has called me for an interview!"
Advika squealed in happiness, making her mom, brother, and sister-in-law smile at her.
Aahan: "That's good news, but you would have joined our company, right?"
Advika: "Bhai, I've told you, I want to get a job on my own merit. If I joined our company, I'd get special treatment, and I don't want that."
She said in her small voice, making her brother chuckle. He ruffled her head and said, "Okay."
She smiled at him.
Saanvi: "Okay, okay, now go get fresh and come downstairs for breakfast. In the meantime, I'll make something sweet."
Advika nodded, and they all left her room. She closed the door, and as she was about to enter the bathroom, she felt something at her feet. She got scared and looked down, only to find Buddy curling himself around her feet. She smiled and picked him up, placing him on the bed. She patted his head gently.
Advika: Wait for me, okay?
In response, he barked in agreement.
She changed and went downstairs for breakfast, sitting beside Aaditi, who was eating messily. She kissed Aaditi's chubby cheeks and greeted her in a baby voice.
Aaditi tried to copy but couldn't pronounce it properly, making everyone laugh.
Kabir: "Advika, when is the interview?"
Advika:" It's tomorrow, Dad."
Advika: "Um, Mom, I'll be leaving for Divya's house."
Saanvi nodded in agreement. After finishing her breakfast, Advika left, bidding goodbye to everyone. Suddenly, Saanvi asked,
Saanvi: "Isn't Agarwal company owned by Karan Agarwal?"
Kabir: "Yes."
He said while eating his food.
Saanvi: "Their son is single, right? What was his name, umm... Ah, yes..."
Before she could complete, Aahan interrupted.
Aahan:" Akhil Agarwal, and yes, he is single. But Mom, whatever is going on in your head, I don't think Advika will accept it. In fact, she is too young for this marriage thing. And still, if you want, then first ask her before taking the next step."
He said, standing from his chair. Kabir agreed with Aahan.
Saanvi: "Oh, I was just asking. And don't worry, I'm also her mother. I know what is good and what is bad for my daughter."

Agarwal's House

All members of the Agarwal family were present in the dining hall except for Akhil. Everyone was waiting for him.

Sumitra: "Um, Karan, did you talk with Akhil about marriage?"
Karan sighed and replied,
Karan: "Yes, I did. Maybe if you ask him again, he'll change his decision."
Sumitra:" Okay, I'll try."

Suddenly, Sam interjected,
Sam:" Um, Dad, is it a rule to get married before handling the business and becoming a CEO?"
Karan:" Yes, Sam, it is."

Meanwhile, Akhil also came down to the dining table and sat beside Sam. As everyone started eating, Sumitra cleared her throat, gaining everyone's attention except Akhil's, who continued eating.

Sumitra:" Um, Akhil."
Sumitra called out to Akhil, who hummed and nodded, indicating for her to continue speaking.
Sumitra:" Akhil, have you found someone for marriage?"
Sumitra asked directly, without beating around the bush.
Akhil stopped eating and simply said, "No."
Before Sumitra could say anything, Akhil continued,
Akhil: "Dad, I have emailed you the list of new candidates. Their interviews will be tomorrow."
Kabir: "Hmm, I'll check. And what have you thought about marriage?"
Akhil got up after finishing his breakfast. Before leaving the dining hall, he said while looking at Sumitra and Kabir,
Akhil: "About the marriage decision, it's yours."
He said, giving a small smile to his mother, who smiled cheekily.

Sumitra looked at Kabir and said, "Kabir, I know the perfect girl for Akhil. I'm sure they both will be the best match. Also, you know I've been thinking of her ever since I met her. What do you think her parents will say? Should we talk with them?"
She spoke everything in a single breath, her excitement palpable. Everyone smiled at her enthusiasm for the marriage.
Kabir shook his head slightly and chuckled as he looked at her.
Kabir: "Okay, we will talk, but first, you need to calm down. And who exactly are you talking about? Who is this girl, Sumitra?"
He asked, to which Sumitra just smiled.

Akhil left for his main office, where all his mafia works took place. Being well-settled, he had many rivals in the underworld. Taking over his dad's business was not his plans, as it was his father's wish. As everyone has a fear of his name, no one had ever seen his face except his members.

In his office, while Akhil was going through some files, there was a sudden knock on his door. The person entered after receiving permission.

It was Kartik, his right hand.
Kartik:" Sir, we have sent our spy to Mr. Bhatia's place. Everything seems normal, and I don't think he knows about the spy's death yet."
Akhil chuckled darkly and said,
Akhil:" That old man really doesn't have any brain cells. Even though everything seems normal, don't take it lightly."
He said coldly.

Kartik: Yes, sir.
He said and left from there. Soon, Vihaan came and sat in front of Akhil, who noticed his presence but still ignored it.
Vihaan:" Akhil."
Vihaan called out his name, to which Akhil hummed and continued typing on his laptop.
Vihaan: "Mr. Kapoor wants to meet you at the Divine Club tonight. He has some new spicy masterpieces. I think it would be profitable and a great deal. What do you say?"
Vihaan said, showing some pictures of the new collection of guns on his tablet.
Akhil looked at the pictures and said,
Akhil: "Fine."

At Divya's house

It was 4 in the afternoon. Advika, Divya, Sahil, Samar, and Tina were settled on the couch. They had already finished watching two movies and were now bored.

Sahil: "Guys, now what? Please don't suggest a third movie."
Divya: "Let's go somewhere, guys. What do you say?"
Advika:" But where?"
Tina: "What about clubbing, guys?"
Tina asked, to which Samar instantly replied,
Samar: "Great idea."
Advika: "But if we're going clubbing in the evening, what do we do now?"
Divya: "Shopping. We'll buy some clothes and eat something out as I am too hungry."
Divya said, winningly. Sahil teased her,
Sahil: "When are you not hungry?"
He said in a teasing tone, to which Divya smacked his head with a pillow.
Tina: "Okay, then, guys, great plan. Let's go."
After saying this, they all departed towards the mall.

At Dvine Club

Mr. Kapoor awaited Akhil in the private room. Mr. Kapoor expressed to his assistant,
"Somehow, Mr. Agarwal should invest in our company," as they stood together.
Suddenly, the door opened, revealing Akhil with Vihaan beside him. Akhil motioned for Mr. Kapoor to sit as they commenced their business discussion. Mr. Kapoor showcased models of new guns, leaving Akhil quite satisfied. The meeting extended for the next hour, concluding with Akhil agreeing to the deal, handing a check to Mr. Kapoor and finalizing some agreements.

After Mr. Kapoor departed with his assistant, Akhil and Vihaan indulged in drinks, while Vihaan entertained himself with some company of girls. Akhil received a call and excused himself momentarily. Upon returning, as he was about to re-enter the private room, he caught sight of someone very familiar."
