Akhil leaned back in his chair, fingers interlocked, staring at the ceiling as his thoughts spiraled into darkness. The news of Aarav’s attack had ignited something dangerous within him. He knew this wasn’t a coincidence.

For months, a series of mysterious attacks had plagued their mafia business—rivals disappearing without a trace, unexpected threats vanishing before they could strike. But these weren’t enemies trying to destroy him. No, it felt more like someone was… protecting him.

Vivaan, who had been quietly observing him, finally spoke.
“Akhil, if he’s alive, you know what that means, right?”

Akhil’s gaze darkened, his jaw tightening.

“He’ll come for you next,” Vivaan added, his voice edged with concern.

Akhil smirked, his cold eyes locking onto his friend.
“Let him try. If he dares to step into my world again, this time, I’ll bury him myself.”

A sudden knock interrupted them. Akhil shifted his attention from the closed file to the door.

Advika peeked in. “You called me?”

Vivaan chuckled as he stood up. “And here comes your stress reliever.”

Akhil shot him a glare. “Get lost.”

Laughing, Vivaan walked past Advika, throwing her a teasing wink. She narrowed her eyes at him before stepping inside and shutting the door behind her.

Akhil’s gaze lazily dragged over her as she stood near the entrance.
“If you’re done checking me out, you may come in.”

Her cheeks heated, but she quickly masked it with a glare before stepping forward.

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. “I need the latest updates on the Italy project.”

“Okay,” she nodded, turning to leave.

Just as she reached the door, he called out, “Let’s have dinner together.”

She froze, blinking in shock before turning to stare at him, her eyes searching his face.

Under her intense gaze, he shifted slightly in his seat and cleared his throat.
"Dinner ke liye bula raha hu kuch Ganda Kam karne keliye nhi,"
Then, smirking, he added, “Haan, but if you insist…”
(“I’m inviting you to dinner, not to do anything indecent.”)

Even he was surprised by his own words, but he was thoroughly enjoying the effect they had on her.

Her cheeks turned crimson, eyes widening as if she’d seen a ghost.
“Have some shame, yaar!” she whined, shooting him a glare.

Akhil merely grinned, watching as she turned on her heels.

“Fine,” she muttered, not bothering to look back before leaving.
