Panic took the lead and I found myself calling Rahma. 'Assalamu 3alaikum, are you already missing me? We just parted ways.' she said laughing. 'Wa3alaikum Salam, Rahma I wish I could laugh but this is serious. You will never guess what just happened? Or actually what I just found.' 'What is it?' I heard her say. 'I am holding Amine's agenda.' 'What do you mean by holding his agenda?' 'Well, literally holding it. I took his instead of mine.' She fell silent for a moment and then started to laugh 'Rahma how can you laugh at this? This is serious! How am I supposed to give it back to him? This is so embarrassing!' 'Jannah calm down. Just tell Deen about it. He will let him know.'

That's right, Deen! He is the only one who will save me from this situation. 'I didn't even think about that. I will let him know. Thank you Rahma.' I hung up and ran towards Deen's room. After knocking two times, I opened his door. I saw him lying on his bed with his phone. 'Deen you really have to help me out because you are the best brother in the whole world, right? You know that I had a project today with your friends. I just came back from shopping with Rahma. You also know that I love to plan my days so I took out my agenda and looked at what I had planned for tomorrow. It said a meeting at 10 AM. Do you believe that? I can't even hold a presentation let alone a whole meeting! So I remembered that Amine had the same agenda as me so it is probably his. Could you please let him know? You'll also give it back to him because no way that I'll deal with that much of an embarrassment!' I said in one breath with pleading eyes.

My brother looked confused at me and then at his phone. 'Pleaseee?' A silence fell between us and suddenly I heard a laugh. It wasn't Deen's laugh. 'Huh, who is laughing?' Deen joined that person and started to laugh. I looked confused at him. 'Well, luckily it's me who will attend that meeting and not you.' Wait, this was not happening. I am probably dreaming. 'Deen who's talking?' I looked confused at my brother who was now smiling. 'Amine you should probably let her join that meeting.' Deen said to the one and only Amine.

'What?' is the only thing that came out of my mouth. I felt myself dying of embarrassment. 'Deen don't joke around, who are you talking to?' 'It really is me, Amine. As for the agenda, I would like to get it back if you don't mind. I'm also guessing that I have yours?' I nodded as I was flabbergasted. 'She is probably nodding.' Amine laughed. Deen nodded at his friend. 'Yes she is. Jannah, are you going to uni tomorrow? If so, we could give it to him then.' Wait, why is Deen letting me give something to a male that isn't my mahram? Oh wait, he said 'we' Astagfirullah. I shouldn't assume things. 'No I am not.' We heard Amine cough a little. 'I actually need it tomorrow.' 'Oh.' It fell silent. 'Euhm, I can come pick it up right now and give you hers?' Deen looked over at me as I was shaking my head. No way that I'll give it to him. Deen would do that for me. 'Are you sure you can? Because if you can't I"ll drop it off in the morning on my way to work.' 'No no it is alright. Just send me your address and I'll head towards you.' 'Alright, then I'll see you soon. Assalamu 3alaikum.' He replied with the salam and cut the call.

'Deen! You embarrassed me even more. And since when are you that close that you call each other?' 'Well I do know him since our childhood.' Huh, childhood? Amine? I know all my brother's childhood friends because we used to played together, but I don't remember any Amine? Deen saw my confused look. 'Long story. Now go bring that agenda or you are giving it personally to him.' I ran out of his room and into mine. Not a minute later I handed Deen the book. 'Don't try to embarrass me even more.' I warned my brother. 'I wouldn't dare.' he said with an innocent look. I headed back to my room and sat at my window. I looked at the moon as my thoughts wandered to the past. How does Deen know Amine since our childhood? I tried to think about an indication of Amine being involved in my childhood, but I couldn't find one.

Suddenly a car parked opposite our house. I didn't know that car. I narrowed my eyes a little bit to get a better look. It was him, Amine. My gaze was fixed on his every movement. He took his phone out and typed something. Then he looked over at our front door. 'Jannah, Amine is here. I am going out to him.' I heard Deen yell. Did he really have to yell a man's name when our mom and dad were home?

'Who is Amine?' Oh no, not my mom. I heard my mom speak up right after Deen finished explaining. 'Oh, we are about to eat. Invite him in to eat with us.' What? This night couldn't get any worse. My eyes focused again on Amine who was now out of the car. He was leaning on his car wearing grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. Suddenly he looked up. I hurriedly secured my hoodie around my face and hair. His eyes were flickering through the front of our house as if looking for something. Then our eyes met.

Assalamu Alaikum! First of all, Ramadan Mubarak. May this month heal our hearts and make us realize the blessings that we have. Do not forget our Palestinian brothers and sisters in your dua's! May Allah give them sabr and make it easy for them, Ameen. They are a lesson for us on how strong our imaan should be.

I was really contemplating if it was a good idea to post a chapter during Ramadan as our focus should be on strengthening our faith. Please continue your ibaadah and do not loose hope in the Mercy and Power of Allah swt. Everything is possible as long as you make dua for it. Pray for the things you want and don't forget to include your loved ones in your dua. Build a relationship with the Quran as it is the words of Allah swt. Allah speaks to us through the Quran. And last but not least, try to leave a bad habit before Ramadan ends. Ramadan shows us that we really can change. We really can become a better version of ourselves. Take this chance as we never know when our last Ramadan will be!

May Allah forgive us and accept our fast.

Love,

S.
