It has been two years since that fateful incident happened. Alpha Jeremy had recovered a lot from the shock and heartbreak he received that day. There is still a slight pang in his chest whenever he thinks of that day, but he tries his best not to think of that day and carry out his responsibilities as the head of the pack. His cousin brother, the Beta of the pack, has also helped him coming to terms with the incident. He felt grateful for always having him by his side but he will never say it to his face. That will inflate his ego!. "Want some help with those?" asked Beta Jace pointing at the files scattered all over the table. Jeremy was a little taken aback when he heard the voice because he hadn't sensed Jace entering the office. "You were so into you thoughts Alpha." said Jace seeing his surprised look. "You could have knocked the doors before entering Beta. That's the basic manners!" said Jeremy pretending to get offended. "Now that I have not knocked there is nothing I could do but sit down and do my business." replied Jace pondering through one of the files on the table. "This rascal!" Jeremy cursed under his breath. "Our species have super hearing, in case you have forgotten." said Jace giving him a very wicked smile. "Of course!" replied Jeremy rolling his eyes and going back to his work. The office fell silent after this little banter of theirs and both immersed themselves in their work. By the time they have finished with their work, it was almost time for dinner. "I am so hungry!" Jace whined. "Lets go" replied Jeremy stretching a little. Sitting for long hours, looking through files is not an easy task. Jeremy hated it but with the help of Jace he was able to complete it. But as said before, he will never say it to his face. When they arrived at the kitchen, they saw that the whole pack was assembled at the dining table waiting for their Alpha and Beta. They murmured their greetings and started digging into their food. Usually only the Alpha family lives in the pack house, the rest lives separately in their own homes in the pack lands. But they all gather together at their pack house for their breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a tradition started by Jeremy's great grandfather, as a means to know and understand his pack members better. The way Jeremy knows each and every pack member by their name even though they are one of the largest pack has something to do with this tradition. Another advantage of this tradition is the strong understanding between the pack members and their alpha. Even though their Alpha doesn't speak that much, the pack members knew that he will do anything for their welfare. Their only wish now is to see their alpha completely happy and they hope that time will come very soon. Dinner passed by with little chit-chat and everyone went back home with smiles on their faces. "Jace, I am going back to my room, link me if there is anything." Jeremy said. "Yes my little bro." replied Jace, dropping all the formalities. They address each other by their titles only in front of their pack members and during their hour of duty, outside that, they are brothers. Jeremy gave him a small smile and left to his room. "This is the person." said Lily showing Jace a photograph. As soon as Jeremy left, Lily urged Jace and his mom to her room. Now they are sitting on her bed looking at the photograph of a very beautiful young man. "Aww!!He is such a cutie!!" squealed Jasmine. "Mom keep your voice down!" Jace whisper-yelled at his mom. "But he is cute!" pouted Jasmine. "I wish Jeremy would love this boy. I just want to see my brother happy." said Jace hoping that everything will turn out to be the way he wished.
