Chapter 3

Ryan's P.O.V

The moment when Alpha stormed out of the dining room, I lowered my head and sat there. I know this is going to happen. Who would want to be paired up with someone other than your true mate, even if he/she is no more. I could understand his pain and I didn't come here expecting anything because I am certain that if he come to know of my past, he would outright reject me. I came here just for the sake of my mother. That woman is so worried about me. My mom has gone through so many hardships in order to raise me. My papa was killed in a war when I was only two years old and since then my mom did everything to raise me to be the person I am now. Unlike humans who can remarry after their spouse's death, I have never seen or heard of any werewolf trying to find another person when their mate dies because the connection between them and their mate is so strong and unique that it will not be found in any other person. That's why werewolves say that their species have only one true soulmate. In my knowledge, mine is the first case of a werewolf pairing where true mates are not involved and honestly I didn't know how it will even work out. But for my mom, I will do anything. She had been with me not only during my happy days but also during my bad times, comforting me. When I ran away from mate, I was in worst shape. I was abused both mentally and physically. I ran when I could not bear anymore and like always my mom opened her wings to protect me, keeping those in check who criticized me for what I did. But when Alpha Daniel and Luna Lily along with Jace came to our pack, specifically looking for me with a proposal, choosing me to be their son's mate, my mom agreed. I was shocked because I couldn't understand why in the world will my mom agree when she know of my obvious fear of Alpha wolves. But later when I talked to her I could only see my good will in her words. She didn't wanted me to go through  pain and hardships anymore. "You have suffered enough. Not anymore!" That's what she said. She is one hell of a lady!. But I raised my doubt regarding the matter but she remained optimistic. That's how we ended up coming here, to their pack. I didn't know how they found about me, but being one of the strongest pack it's not a difficult task for them. My mother was optimistic all through out our journey. She was optimistic while talking to Alpha Daniel and Luna Lily. But I saw her hopes shattering when Alpha Jeremy stormed out of the room. We were about to leave when Beta Jace stopped us and now we are sitting down again, me daring not to make eye contact with anybody. "Son, eat something, you have not touched anything since you sat down." I looked up to see Alpha Daniel's kind eyes and smiling face. Alpha Daniel is the first Alpha I had an interaction with, in three years. For last three years I avoided any kind of encounter that involves Alphas'. Yes, I avoided my pack leader too. But I had to talk with this one because I cannot avoid him. But after talking to him for a while I understood that he is a very kind man. It felt like I was talking to my own father. For a person like me who never had any memories of my papa, speaking to him made me so happy. "It's Okay Alpha, I am not that hungry." I replied with a small smile. Well, I have forgotten I could even smile. "Then drink something." Alpha insisted. I took the apple juice in front of me and started drinking it, just to satisfy this man sitting in front of me. Gosh! I am going to miss these two when I go back home. They had made me feel loved in such a short time. Just as I finished drinking the juice, Beta Jace entered the room with a wide grin. "Good news everyone, Alpha agreed to give this relationship a chance."
