Once Upon A Curse

Chapter 7

Once the smoke cleared everyone in the hospital remained confused and panicked after just waking up and immediately been washed over with a haze.

*New York present*

In New York City, a man in business attire walks through the streets. He travels by foot, then by subway, until arriving at his apartment. Inside, he sees that its raining and that he left his window open. As the man attempts to close the window but he drops his cell phone down the fire escape. Frustrated, and the window remaining open, he leans his head against the window sill. Suddenly, a pigeon lands the window and then quickly flies away. When he looks up, he sees that it has left a postcard from Storybrooke. On the back, the word broken is written.

*The enchanted forest present*

Two figures ride towards an abandoned castle on horses. When they arrive, they rush to the side of a beautiful woman who was in a deep slumber. One of the figures cut through the vines between them and the sleeping beauty.

He approaches the woman and says, "If this works, we don't tell her everything. not right away." The man said and the woman beside him nods in understanding.

He leans down to kiss the girl, which causes the spell she was under to be broken and she awoke as a pulse of magic spread through out the land.

*Storybrooke present day*

Ciara, Emma and Henry where making there way through Storybrooke to find the others, as they approached Mary-Margaret they heard her mention Emma.

"So, its true?" Emma asked as she walked towards them with Ciara and Henry behind her. Mary Margaret cups Emmas face before hugging her. But Emma doesn't reciprocate as she struggles to process what's happening.

"You found us." Mary Margaret said as a tear dropped down her cheek.David joins in on the hug.

"Grandpa?" Henry said stepping towards the reunited family.

"Yeah, kid. I suppose so." David said chuckling softly at the boys comment.

"She did it. She saved you." Henry stated looking at Emma.

"She saved all of us." Ciara spoke softly looking at her brother who was with his blood family.

"Uh, then why are we still here?" Leroy asked annoyed at the family ignoring the situation at hand.

"That, my friend, is an excellent question." Davis clarified looking at Ciara "You must know what's happening you are her daughter after all." he asked Ciara accusingly.

"Don't start with me Charming, My mother doesn't care about me, and right now all I want is to find her and get answers." Ciara answered bitterly sending a warning look to dare test her patience.

Everyone began to asked a million questions at once all talking over each other so non could be answered.

"And what was that smoke?" The people of the town asked.

Mother Superior runs up to the crowd "Magic.. it's here I can feel it."

"She's right I can feel my powers restoring." Ciara said confirming Blues announcement.

"Magic? In Storybrooke? Youre the Blue Fairy. Do something magical." Henry said to the fairy.

"Its not quite that simple, Henry. No wand, no fairy dust Matters are complicated, now." Blue explained to Henry.

"Lets go to the person responsible for bringing it – the Queen." Leroy said and everyone agreed with him including Ciara.

"No, wait. It wasnt Regina." Emma said stopping their tracks.

Ciara followed everyone down the street towards Mr. Golds shop ignoring the conversations the people around them were having. She broke out of trance when Archie runs over to them panicking.

"There you are. Come with me. I need your help. Dr. Whales whipped everyone into a frenzy. Theyre going to Reginas house. Theyre going to kill her!" Archie said through a rushed breath.

"Great I'll help them." Ciara replied not caring about what happened to her mother anymore. archie frowned at the girls comment before saying, " No. No, we cannot stoop to her level. No matter who she is or what shes done, killing her is wrong."

"He's right. Please. She's still our mom." Henry pleaded as he look at his sister begging her to do the right thing. Ciara felt a tug at her heart knowing she can't hurt her brother. "If Blues right and magic is here, Regina could have her powers back. They'll be marching to their deaths." Ciara said before running after the mob of angry towns folk.

"Open up! Open up, or were coming in!" Dr. Whale yelled as he banged on Regina's door.

Regina casually answers the door smiling innocently at the doctor. "Can I help you?" She asked.

"That smirk isnt going to last forever, Regina. you took everything from us, and now-" whale said before Regina cut him off.

"What? Now youre going to kill me?"

Dr. Whale breathed out a laugh "Eventually. But first, you need to suffer."

"Listening to you has been enough suffering for all of us." Regina said back not caring about the towns peoples threat. She pushed passed Whale onto her porch step and continued, "Thats right. You wanted to see your Queen? Well, my dears. Here She Is." Regina extended her arms in an attempt to use her magic, causing the crowd to flinch, but nothing happens.

"She's powerless" Someone yelled from the crowd "Get her!"

Whale garbs Regina and slams her against the pillar by the doorway. "Now where we?" He asked mockingly to the queen.

Ciara pushes through the crowd and shoves Whale away from her mother. "Back off Whale." she demands. "Why should I take orders from the spawn of the witch, princess?" Whale spat.

"Because, despite where I come from I never used my magic to hurt anyone." Ciara reminds the town remembering how hard she's worked to break the prophecy of her being the darkest of all beings.

"And because I'm still the Sherriff." Emma adds backing Ciara up. "And because Emma saved all of you." David continues.

"And because no matter what Regina did, it does not justify this." snow said looking at her stepmother. "We are not murderers here" Emma added.

Dr. Whale argues back saying "Well, were not from this world." stepping closer to Emma to try and intimidate her.

"Yeah, well, youre in it now." Emma snapped as Davis pushes him away from his daughter.

Ciara locked eyes with her mother with no emotion, she wanted answers but couldn't get them with Henry around. And Reginas death wont provide any answers. She needs to be locked up. For her safety and, more importantly, for ours. Ciara heard now say breaking her gaze from her mother.

At the station the Charming's locked Regina inside on of the cells.

"So, Im a prisoner now?" Regina scoffed.

"The curse is broken. Why didnt we go back?" David asked getting close to the cell doors.

"Because theres nothing to go back to. That land is gone." Regina said as she smirked at the prince.

"If you don't mind I'd like a word with my mother... alone." Ciara said glaring at the cell. The Charming's nodded leaving the station.

"What do you mean gone?" Ciara asked her mother, her voice emotionless as she stepped closer to her mother.

"The curse destroyed the land and everything in it." Regina answered sadly at her daughters coldness.

"And Killian?" Ciara whispered not wanting to break in front of her mother. Her mothers expression softened and Regina stayed silent. Ciara raised her arm and used her magic to choke her mother... "Where is he?" Ciara yelled as she continued to hold her mother in the spell.

"I'm... I-m sor...rry cece" Regina said as a tear escaped from her eye. Ciara froze before sending her mother flying into the wall.

"I will never forgive you, and as soon as Henry witnesses who you really are I will make you pay." Ciara declared as she turned and left the station leaving her mother locked up, not noticing Mr Gold waiting in the shadows.
