My dad just stared at me. I saw tears come out of his eyes.
"How could you forgive me! I've been a horrible father to you and Andrew!" My dad told me.
"I know you have. I did hate you for everything you've done, but your brother taught me that you can even forgive someone for abusing you. So, I have decided to forgive you," I said.
I saw more tears come out of his eyes.
"Thank you, son, but I don't know if I'll still be a good father to you when I get released!"
I just looked at him with pity.
"I know, but I think you'll learn in here. Just ask one of the policemen or something to teach you how to be a good dad, I don't know, try something," I told him.
He was looking down. Tears falling down his face like a waterfall.

I walked to my locker. Kasey walked to me. I look at her, then I instantly say, "I am so sorry for trying to avoid you, I didn't want to tell you about them."
"I know, but I really want to know how you got them! Please tell me!"
"I'm sorry, I can't!" I say, a little louder then my normal talking voice.
"Why can't you!" Kasey said.
We were causing people to stare.
"I'm sorry, I can't do this right here, right now," I say walking away faster than she is.
I finally make it to class right when the bell rang, so she had to sit down in her seat on the other side of the room. Even though we were in a bit of an argument, I still looked at her during class. She is still the most beautiful girl, and I hope we can fix this problem.
Should I tell her or not? I thought, during class.
Near the end of the class, I finally thought, I should tell her, she'll find out eventually.
I write a note.
The note says: Meet me at the nearest park after school. I think I will tell you. ~Bryce
The note gets passed across the classroom.
I watch her read the note, then she looks at me, then, she looks back to the front of the classroom.

After school, I walk to my uncles car.
"Can I go to the park?" I ask him.
He looks at me, then says, "Fine, but you better be home by dinner."
"Thanks!" I say.
I watch him drive away, then I walk the other way towards the park. When I get there, I sit by myself in the swing waiting for Kasey to come. I finally see Kasey coming only 5 minutes later.
"I'm sorry you have to do this," she says walking up to me.
"It's fine because I know you will find out eventually," I say to her as she sits in the swing next to me.
It was silent for a minute.
"This is really hard for me to say to somebody that's not in my family," I say.
"Okay, I understand," she tells me.
"Okay, the reason I have these bruises is because my... My dad abused me and my brother. He's punched me, slapped me, and threw me against things, and the one thing that changed my life dramatically; I forgave him, and I'm very proud of myself for doing that. I've tried and tried one night, and I finally found the courage to forgive him."
"You are the bravest, and most courageous person I know," she told me.
"You think so," I said.
"I know so," she tells me.
I then get up, and pull her arms until she stands up. I kiss her soft, big lips.
Then we pull away.
"Does this mean we are officially a couple?" I ask.
"I think it does!" Kasey says, kissing me again.
