Chenford - pregnant?

In the hospital, again. Chapter 7

L- Clear! If the house is empty where are the couple. Shoes, clothes and the car is here.

A- Shots fired at our location one officer down, I repeat officer down! Need backup and an RA and alert Sergeant Bradford!

Angela had followed in the ambulance with Lucy and held her hand the whole time. She could feel Lucy squeezing her hand and then letting go. She suffred two cardiac arrests on the way to the hospital and every time Angela had to start the scompressions on one of her best friends she rememberd watching Tim do the same thing after Caleb. As soon they reached the hospital Bailey got out of the ambulance and rolled Lucy into the hospital.

B- 25-year old woman, not conscious but breathing. Six months pregnant, currently bleeding may suffer miscarriage. Sever wounds and a mass of blood loss. Already suffred two cardiac arrests so prepare for more.

Nurse- Sorry ma'm but you need to wait here. We will come and get you as soon as possible.

A- Calls Tim. Hey I'm at the hospital waiting for Lucy. What's your ETA?

T- Legally, 5 min. As a cop whos wife has been shot, 1,5. Se you there.

While Lucy is being rush to an OR Anglea sits in the waitingroom. She blames herself for all of it. She shouldn't have talked to Grey and taken her out on patrol. She should have been at the station doing paperwork or front desk. not risking her or the babys life. And hearing the words "might suffer a miscarrige" broke her heart. Angela had killed their baby.

T- Where is she??

A- I-i-do-n't kn-ow. She broke down crying in Tims arms.

A- I shouldn't have convinced Grey that she shloud go on patrol. I'm sorry for hurting her, I really am. I shouldn't be the one crying.

T- Hey, hey it's okay. She will be alright you couldn't have know.

A- But I should've I'm a cop, even worse a detective. It's my job to know when something isn't right and save people from harm.

Tim also started to cry. He realised that if the last time he would see her alive that would be her crying in his arms having a panic attack.

Several hours later

Nurse- Family of Lucy Bradford?

T- Yes, is she okay?

Nurse- Are you Timothy Bradford?

T- Yes!

Nurse- Then follow me, I will need to speak with you first before you can see her. She has just woken up from surgery and requested to see you. We didn't want to tell her this but since the shot went straight through her stomach, it also went straight through your babys head. I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we though you should be the one telling her.

T- I understand. I'm just a bit shocked I'm sorry.

Nurse- totally understandable. You may see her in room 301 and you can bring one more at the moment. The rest will have to wait til tomorrow so she will have time to handle all the stress coming. And please tell her as soon as possible about the miscarriage but tell her at a proper moment so don't rush it. She has suffered a lot of stress and emotions during the last couple of hours so take good care of her. We will do regular checkups every 45 minutes so you can expect us in about 30 minutes again.

T- Thank you so so much.

Tim was so shocked about everything he didn't know how to react. He went with his head down and with heavy steps towards Angela and the rest of the crew.

T- The baby got shot. She's dead.

A- Lucy or the baby? She got scared that Lucy died in surgery or due to severe blood loss.

T- The baby. They killed our baby. He broke down crying heavy on the floor. Angela and Grey caught him before he fell completely.

A- Come here, she will be okay but right now I think she needs you by her side. Do you want someone to come with you?

T- Yes please Angela? I'm sure she would want to see you.

A- Ofc, let's go and give her some company.

T- Right, and the doctors said more visitors from tomorrow so looks like she's going to be here for awhile.

They went to room 301 and when Tim saw Lucy he ran straight inside and sat in the chair right beside her holding her hand.

T- I thought I had lost you. He sobbed.

L- I'm right here now, baby. She kissed his hand and patted on the bed for him to lay down beside her.

T- I don't want to hurt you more.

L- I don't think that is possible. Plus a hug never made anything worse right?

Tim jumped up in the bed beside Lucy and she buried her face in his chest.

A- I will leave you to and go see the others. And I will swing by later with an overnight bag. Good to see you awake Lucy. But call me if you need anything and by that I mean litterally anything. Especially if Tim doesn't behave or give you enough snuggles, forehead kisses or anything. Your delivery should be here soon too.

L- What delivery?

T- Veggie burger and fries, extra pickles?

L- You know me so well🥹

T- Too well. He smiled and gave her a kiss. They fell asleep but Lucy woke up after just an hour.

L- It hurts!!

T- I'm sorry, where?

L- Stomach, it's like cramps!

Oh no, shes in labour. They induced her so she could deliver the baby now insted of waiting three more months. Oh crap, I haven't told her yet.

T- I'm so sorry Luce but I need to tell you something I should have said before. The shot went straight through the babys head and they had no chance of saving it. I'm really sorry Luce but they induced you to deliver the baby now so you didn't have to wait and be worried over all the risks that come with waiting. But I will be here for you no matter what happends, even if you don't want me to I will not leave your side.

L- I'm so sorry for messing up this bad. I know how much you wanted to be a dad and I'm really sorry for not being able to make it happen.

T- That's not important right now. What is is that you are alive and the good news is that they were able to fix the uterus so you might be able to get pregnant again. I know that is probably not what you want to here right now but I don't want to keep any secrets from you anymore.

L- Can you please press the button and get a doctor. I-aaoaooowowww- need medications

Tim pressed the button and lifted Lucy up. He sat her in between his legs and held her hands. He knew this could take a while so she needed to feel safe. She needed to know that he wasn't going anywhere.

L- I love you Tim and that is for sure something that will never change. She passed out from all of the pain.
