EVER since that day, Sanyu no longer has any time to relax, especially with the rise in Equalist activity and crime. She's even unable to return home after her shift, as the police department is short-staffed. Officers are deployed everywhere to apprehend criminals, leaving only a few to handle reports back at the office.

Her days blur together in a relentless cycle of work and exhaustion. With criminals lurking on every block, the police department is stretched thin, deploying officers to every corner of the city. She finds herself constantly on the move, chasing leads, responding to emergencies, and attempting to maintain order in the chaos.

Despite her fatigue, Sanyu can't afford to complain. It's her duty as a police officer to protect the citizens of Republic City, even if it means sacrificing her own comfort and well-being. She pushes through the weariness, fueled by a sense of responsibility and dedication to her job.

However, she feels guilty for making her siblings wait every night for her return home, especially on the day she forgot about visiting them on Air Temple Island and simply went home, collapsing onto her bed. She knows Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo are probably sitting outside on the steps, gazing at the sky, waiting for her to return to their arms. And she knows Tenzin probably tells them to go to sleep, promising she'll visit tomorrow. But as always, she often arrives at the island when they're already asleep.

"Sanyu," Tenzin greets his daughter, who has just returned from work. It's past midnight, yet she still goes to Air Temple Island in hopes of seeing her loved ones. "They're already sleeping. And you should rest, too . . ." he tells her with concern, approaching her. He notices the dark circles forming under her eyes and the redness in them. She's beyond exhausted.

Sanyu waves her hand dismissively. "I'm fine," she groans, though her speech slurs. "You don't have to worry."

"Sanyu?" Korra calls out, her brows knitted in concern. She has just finished taking a bath after returning to the island, fresh from training with Bolin and Mako for their upcoming tournament. "Um, hi. What are you doing here?"

With her damp hair cascading down her shoulders, the Avatar holds a small towel over her head, ready to dry off. But as she steps outside the mansion, the murmurs of conversation catch her attention. She spots Tenzin with his daughter, yet her gaze is drawn first to Sanyu, who looks utterly miserable and exhausted. The officer sways unsteadily from side to side, as if she's drunk, but Korra knows better; Sanyu doesn't drink.
