EXT - PHILEN - JAREL'S FARMLAND - DAY
We see a herd of Hantha eating grass in a field similar to a herd of sheep but with brown stringy fur
Soon a whistling sound followed by some shouting stirs the herd from their meals as they move in their packs
We see they are being herded by RHYS (19) trainee farmer and padawan who herds them with no problem until he comes across one that refuses to move
They both stare down at each other, Rhys raises his hand and attempts to mind-trick the animal
However, after a few moments, the animal bleats at him as if it is mocking him for his attempt
Defeated Rhys starts to clap
RHYS
Get a move on
The Hantha falls quickly in line and Rhys herds them back to the farm
EXT - JAREL'S HOUSE - DAY
Rhys closes the fence as the last Hantha enters the enclosure and looks into the distance to see JAREL (55) retired Jedi master cutting down blocks of wood
Rhys takes a swig from his canister and approaches his father who notices him
JAREL
Finished?
RHYS
Yes father
JAREL
Good, got this batch left
Rhys leans upon a tree in deep thought, Jarel finishes off the last few logs and looks at his son
JAREL
You ok?
RHYS
Hmm? Yeah, yeah
Jarel takes a seat next to him, but Rhys doesn't look at him, Jarel laughs and pats his back
JAREL
One of these days, I'll teach you to lie
RHYS
What do you mean?
JAREL
No nothing, you ready?
Rhys takes a breathe and nods
JAREL
Very well let's begin
Jarel gets up and offers his hand to Rhys which he takes
EXT - TRAINING CIRCLE - DAY
Jarel throws Rhys a stick and Rhys prepares his stance
JAREL
A Jedi's weapon is sacred, however just because we master one does not mean we limit ourselves to one
CUT TO:
Rhys shoots at some dummies with a crossbow but misses 4 out of 5 targets
He moans before he looks at Jarel
JAREL
