***Onyx's POV***
We didn't talk on the way there, just played music. It reminded me of when we first met and he took me to that bar. The ride was short and we saw a tall silhouette in the dark when we pulled up. The lights didn't work so it was really fucking dark, which means people could be hiding. Perfect place to get jumped or kidnapped...again. Focus, Onyx. That's not going to happen.
"Do not leave my sight and stay close." Damon grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it.
"He wouldn't hurt you, would he?"
"I don't know anymore. I wouldn't put it past him." I nodded my head. I was feeling nervous, but I could feel the anger radiating off of Damon. I don't think this is going to end well.
I got out when Damon did and followed him. Once we got close to Travis, who was leaning against a tree, we could kind of see his face. Thanks to the small amount of light coming from the moon. I stood slightly behind Damon. I figured I'd keep an eye out while Damon talks to his brother.
"I came alone if that is what you are looking for." Travis called me out. Pushing himself off of the tree, he took a step closer to Damon.
"Don't speak to her." Damon jumped in. "Just get to the fucking point. What do you want?"
"I need to know what you remember from the night mom passed." Damon was quiet for a moment but then chuckled.
"So you abandon mom and I, left me to deal with her death and now years later you want to know details about the night mom died? She overdosed. What more information could you need?"
"Someone brought something to my attention and I need to look into. Since I wasn't there, I need you to tell me everything you can remember."
"What was brought to your attention?"
"I think it's best I keep it to myself until I know for sure. I don't want to upset you."
"Upset me? Since when do you look out for me? Just fucking tell me."
"I tried to take you with me after mom passed. You wanted to be stubborn and stay behind."
"Things needed to be taken care of! I don't run from my problems like a punk ass bitch."
I could tell Travis was getting pissed. I got closer incase he tried to do something.
"Mom was a piece of shit! She was hooked on drugs, bringing evil men in and out of that fucking house! I needed to leave! It's not my fault you wanted be her little bitch!"
I don't know what it was, but I felt protective of Damon. I used my arm to push Travis against the tree behind him. I put a knife to his throat.
"You will talk to him with respect. If you can't do that, then I will cut out your fucking tongue."
Travis stared into my eyes and smirked. That just pissed me off even more.
"I can see why my brother likes you." I pushed the knife a little harder against his neck, just about to break the skin.
"I can see why your brother doesn't like you." I pushed off of him, put my knife away and went back to where I was. Travis chuckled and I wanted to stab the shit out of him. How dare he say those things to Damon and now be laughing like something is funny.
"Feisty girl you got there." Damon ignored his brother's comment.
"What information is making you look into our mother's death?" Travis obviously didn't want to tell Damon anything.
"I was on an assignment. Some guy we were torturing didn't have the information we were looking for. But he had mentioned he knew who killed mom. Apparently the guy was bragging about getting away with it."
