As time passed, Posey grew into a young woman, and changed but not much for the better. The Katts family drinking problem that aunt Monica tried her best to stop, continued when Posey began drinking the wine aunt Monica and uncle Leland had in their lower cabinets. Monica tried to hide them from her niece, but Posey was sneaky and managed, the extreme love Katts women had for red wine stemmed all the way down to the 20th century.Other than that she got into new and mature things, like erotic art and music. She admired the art of naked bodies and all their glory, and even made some erotic art of her own, sticking images of her own art and other on the walls of her bedroom, her aunt and uncle couldn't even walk in without cringing.
When it came to music, she most especially loved British singer Cliff Richard and his 1976 song Devil Woman, she heard it whilst sitting on her bed one rainy afternoon, reading a magazine with the radio playing in the back when it came around. His voice, the lyrics, all drifted into Posey's head. For her 16th birthday her uncle Leland got her his album I'm Nearly Famous. She loved to replay her favorite song and dance around her x-rated room, she especially loved to sing her favorite verse out loud:
"Crystal Ball on the table, showing the future the past, same cat with them evil eyes and I knew it was a spell she cast!"
And foolishly open her window for nearby neighbors and passerbys to hear. When Posey turned 19 she became even more rebellious, she never once considered her aunt Monica's feelings at all. They fought a lot as if Monica was her real mother, speaking of her mother, Monica tried contacting her sister to at least consider giving Posey a visit, but Tonya didn't respond, and her final words stuck in Posey's head even she got older, the scars didn't go away, and Posey just gave her guardians hell, she would go out to party and wouldn't return until 1 in the morning, always hungover as well, hairy messy and a horrible taste in her mouth.
The final straw came down when Posey took her uncle's Chevrolet for a late night joyride, her foot pressed onto the gas so hard she hit 70 mph, tearing the car through the darkness late at 8pm unaware of a large old tree in her path, the frontier was damaged badly, but Posey came out sort of unharmed, with only a few scratches and a bloody nose, possibly from the shock and dryness that cold night, managing to pull herself out before falling unconscious on the ground.
She was well into her 20s at that point, and her aunt and uncle now had enough. "You're on your own Posey Katts." and they kicked her out. She was being rejected for the second time, and couldn't believe it. She left the only people who cared about her in a huff, refusing to have anything to do with them again, how could they do this to her right after everything she had been through.
Posey moved far away from Stoke, all those memories she had were locked away in her head, now was time for a fresh new start, but she never forgot about Murdoc, she wondered if he would remember her, he left Stoke long before she did.
She moved into a flat by herself and took up a small job as a maid, because one thing she did well back at her aunt's before leaving was making sure the residence shined.
She could do whatever she wanted now, she could play her music, not too loud, not too loud to disturb her new closely-knit neighbors but could still dance in her socks, she had soft carpeting and she had her self-made no shoes before entering policy in her apartment.
However even with all the free-living opportunities she had, she was still bored sometimes.
August 13, 1995
Posey loved going out to pubs, being alone in her flat could be pretty boring.
She and a couple of guys got very wasted that August night and all three of them took a tumble into a ditch down near the venue. It was summertime but also rather cool at that time.
The pub owner who was nicknamed "Long John Silver" because he had silver eyes and hair (from old age) by the fellow patrons came outside with a couple other guys and a rouge-pink haired businesswoman named Regan.
"I saw em blokes rushin and was checking to make sure they wouldn't drive, are all three of them together?" Regan, Long-John and the two others went down the hill to where Posey and the other two men were lying around on the ground.
Posey's vision was blurry, all she saw was a lot of dark and what looked like silhouettes of trees, and then she saw a slim-bodied figure approaching her. "It's ok love, just fall onto me." She said, Regan was nurturing when she had to be, but was also fierce and didn't let anyone who bothered her see her rough side unless needed, other than that most people who knew her remembered that fact.
"Did you drive?" She asked, before noticing Posey's little black purse still slung across her, she sat Posey up to get it and check and see what she had inside. a little pink handkerchief that had what looked like foundation stains and possibly blood on it from from another nosebleed incident, red lipstick and a single tampon, and the keys to her vehicle at the very bottom of the leather purse with a diamond keychain attached to it.
"Will you take her with you?" Long-John asked.
Regan had taken a taxi to the pub and thought maybe she could bring this woman home with her to get back to wherever she came from.
'Yes, I will." Regan replied. "Are you sure? I'm not judging but we don't know possibly what this woman is capable of." One of the men said.
"I saw her here before, she didn't seem to an issue, I think Regan here will do just fine." Long-John assured.
"Well alright, though I think these lads ere are more important for us."
Regan hoisted Posey up onto her feet, her legs wobbled a bit but she was able to walk up the steep hill. "Are they your friends?" Regan asked, pointing to the guys on the ground being helped up by the male patrons.
Posey looked back and saw through her fringed hair. "No." She said, shaking her head, her lips were red and cold.
Regan took Posey's keys and drove all the way home, where she let Posey sleep with her in her bedroom.
