-It's not such a bad thing. Serena will marry the Duke and her inheritance will be given to her however it will have to go through me and therefore I could divert it and so we can share it.

Julia Credence, the Baroness of the Credence family, observed Lord Caiser Homen with those usual cold eyes.
Serena had gone north with little Aida and Caiser, enraged, had come to ask why she had accepted so easily.

Julia was not wrong, this did not change these plans in any way and she would still receive the money she so desires despite some changes to the lines.

Caiser was mad with rage. He had been humiliated and his name was on the lips of everyone in the South. The young Lady had abandoned him for something better.

He was not satisfied with her answer. He had become the laughing stock of everyone for having his fiancée stolen. In addition, rumors concerning his mistreatment of the young woman were becoming more and more heard, making no secret of criticizing him.

He stormed out of the Duchess's office and headed towards his estate. He wasn't going to leave things like that. If I couldn't have Serena, neither could the Duke.

The first time Serena went north was when she was 7 years old. She was small and very turbulent.

She was there with her mother and her sister Jude in a chalet that her mother had bought.

Serena was running through the snow jumping on a pile of snow without any extra thought. Her mother, Anneli, looked at her in complete despair.

They had removed a lot of things so that little Serena wouldn't get hurt.

-Serena!

The little redhead turned around to look at her big sister getting closer.
Dressed in an elegant winter dress with a coat, Jude approached her younger daughter with a big smile on her lips, her blond hair flying in the wind.

Jude stared at his little sister with those soft gray eyes before crouching down in front of her and letting her see what she was holding.

Serena's eyes instantly lit up.

-A dog !

In her sister's arms, a little puppy with white and brown fur looked at her with those big blue eyes.

-He is handsome ! Look at those eyes!

-Do you love Serena? asked the elder

-Yes !

Jude gave him a tender smile before handing him the little puppy.

-It is yours .

Serena looked at her with big bright eyes and a wide smile.
She took the puppy and stroked it gently.

Later, she chose the name Diamond in reference to the hero's dog in a fantasy adventure work she was reading.

Every year, accompanied by her mother and sister, Serena returned to the chalet to find her dog.
Being a winter dog, the southern climate is too harsh for him and so he stayed in the north.

Every year, Serena would play with her dog to the point of exhaustion and watch how he grew as time passed.

Aloe aged only 10, Serena lost her mother but continued to come north. It was one day while she was walking in the woods with Diamond that she met another dog of the same breed as hers.

Her fur was pale gray as well as white and she also had large blue eyes. At first hostile, she let herself be approached by Serena and the latter also adopted her and gave her the name "Lady"

She continued to enjoy the moments spent in the North where these most beautiful memories resided covered in a white coat.

3 years later, Serena had to mourn the loss of her sister. Life began to be difficult but despite everything, every year she continued to come north and this time in the company of Aida.

Diamond and Lady had children when she was 14. Two puppies, one male and the other female. She then called them Lapis and Lazuli.

Accompanied by the new dogs and Aida, Serena continued to create beautiful memories in the North even without her mother and sister.

It was during these 18 years that she went to the North for the last time.

At the request of her maternal grandmother, Serena presented herself to a Countess in the North under the name of Gallow, her mother's last name before her union with her father.

It was a costume ball and she got ready by even wearing a wig made of red hair. The mask she wore had a black veil over her eyes so that her eyes could not be seen.
She wasn't the only one in a disguise during the Ball.

It was at this ball that she met him for the first and last time. She didn't know his name or his age. She didn't even know what color those eyes were. All she knew was that it was a pale man with silver hair.

She had given herself entirely to him even though she had only met her in the labyrinth of the Countess's domain.

Serena had it called Isis, in connection with her mask. She never had it again because as soon as she returned to the South, she learned that she was pregnant.

Baroness Julia then sold the chalet despite Serena's protests and Caiser, who was already her partner, was furious.

Despite everything, Serena stood up to them.
The pregnancy was difficult due to the mental and sometimes physical abuse of Caiser, the mockery of the servants and the lack of consideration for her pregnant woman.

Only one servant named Roel helped her. She had taken care of the young Lady for a long time and also helped her with Aida, then aged 5.

9 months passed and finally Serena gave birth. She never knew if it was a girl or a boy because Caiser entered the delivery room as soon as he heard the baby's cries.

He took the child and left under Serena's pleas.
Serena begged him but nothing happened. It was 3 weeks later that Serena saw her child, dead and decomposing.

She thought she was falling into depression, Roel disappeared and she was at her lowest. It was Aida's smile that kept her afloat.

She swore to protect this little one with all her strength, even if it meant dying, or making a pact with the devil.
