!!IMPORTANT!!!!

Hello, good evening, good night!

I know I take a lot of time to publish the chapters..

I have no excuses..

But before reading the chapter I want to change a detail.

It is the character of Aida Credence who is presented as a little blonde girl with pink eyes.

I change the color of this hair to white hair.

So, from now on, Aida is a young girl with white hair and pink eyes.

When Abel entered the room, a shadow of worry crossed his gaze. There, crouched in front of the dresser, was Serena, lost, absorbed in something that captivated her to the point of forgetting the rest of the world. Abel immediately felt distrust invade him, like a cold mist that slips into the darkest corners of the soul. His mind accused Serena of an inexplicable recklessness, of playing with fire without even understanding the risks.

His gaze then fixed on the object she held in her hands: a mask, hidden among the memories he had hidden over the years. This mask, Abel had worn it during events that he preferred to bury in oblivion. Why had he kept it? Was it for a future evening, a futile masked ball? Or for more buried reasons… linked to her, perhaps?

He approached Serena, his steps silent like a predator hesitating between attack and observation. He noticed her rapid breathing, the trembling of her hands, as if the mask awakened old terrors in her. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, but Serena stiffened under his touch, her body caught in the spasms of a panic attack. Her gaze, full of horror, drowned in tears, and before he had time to react, she collapsed, her legs giving way under the weight of an unspeakable fear, abandoning herself to his arms.

Disturbed, Abel held Serena against him, trying to understand this strange and frightening reaction. What was she hiding? What did this collapse in front of a simple mask mean? Slowly, he returned his gaze to this inanimate object, lying on the ground, its past gleaming under the light of a barely revealed secret.
