"You really think an asshole like you can take down a crazy bastard of that caliber, Angelus?" Gunther's taunting tone didn't escape my radar.
I inhaled my cigarettes and exhaled slowly as I turned to him. Tumaas ang kaniyang kilay nang ngumisi ako. His hair is pulled back, and his gunmetal eyes are staring at me from his lounger.

"Why? Do you think a mere asshole like me doesn't stand a chance against someone like him? If yes, should I kill you here, right now?"
"Let's say you can mess with him for a bit, but I can't say you're capable of getting rid of him. And you're too smart not to think the same thing, yes?" He tilted his head and tapped his temple with his index finger. "You have this, and I know you're smart enough to pick your battles."
Humagalpak ako at tinapon ang halos buo pang sigarilyo sa ashtray. Gumalaw ang panga ng aking pinsan habang pinapanood akong tumawa. I shook my head and lifted my unhinged eyes towards the set of guns inside the arsenal.
"You're right, I'm smart enough to pick my battles. So... why do you think I decided to pick on that man?" I grinned.
"Your fixation on your sister—"
"Farida is not my sister, fucking bastard." I almost pierced a hole in him with my eyes.
"Your denial is somehow entertaining. But if you're going to risk your life for that kid, I can't just sit still. Every crime you commit is connected to Valhalla. Like the last time. You murdered a woman just because of what?" His stare is blank.
"Hmm..." I propped my elbow on the backrest and put my fist against my jaw. "Well, it's not like you didn't kill a woman once in your life."
"You don't get my point. We only kill people who have wronged us. That woman was innocent, Angelus."
I grinned. "I can't believe a piece of shit like you have that kind of belief, Gunther."
His brows came together in a single line as he let out a sigh. Tumuwid siya at naglagay ng alak sa pandak na baso sa kaniyang lamesa. I watched the alcohol fill the empty glass slowly.
"So what's your plan? No matter what I say, I know you will do what you think is right. You can't be stopped."
"I just have to prevent them from meeting each other. I am not planning on killing that son of a bitch. As long as he's living, I have something against Farida. He's actually a big help to me." Ngisi ko at tinanggap ang inalok niyang baso.
"Do you have any idea why that kid doesn't want to see Mayor Escalante?"
I raised the glass and stared at Gunther's warped visage through it. I grinned evilly. I have all the power and means to manipulate everything. But if I'm against someone equally privileged as me, it's a different story.
