The next day the rest of the school could see the guilt and shame rolling off the Gryffindor table at breakfast leaving many to wonder what happened but that lasted until they saw that Gryffindor had lost nearly all of their house points which lead to a new question to begin circulating as to what happened but many people didn't try to press the matter when they saw Regulus who was now glaring at the Gryffindor's so it didn't last long. During that day many people tried to apologize but Regulus simply walked past ignoring them completely. it wasn't until lunch time when Hermione walked up to Regulus. "Regulus I would like to apolo-." Hermione started when Regulus stood up knock over his goblet. "I don't give a bloody fuck!" Regulus shouted as everyone looked at him in shock as the teachers flinched as it finally happened. "You want to apologize for disfiguring my face! For attacking me out of the blue! I have done absolutely nothing to any of you!" Regulus shouted as Hermione took a step back as Regulus ripped his robe off and threw it to the table. "You expect me to just write it off when you lot have sabotaged me at every step and you expect my to forgive you all!" Regulus shouted as everyone looked on.
"I just-." Hermione started as Regulus cut her off again. "Just what follow along with everyone else and expect to receive praises well guess what if anyone in Gryffindor has a problem with me!!" Regulus shouted as he walked towards the door and turned around and whipped out his wand. "Then we'll fight it out right here and right now I don't care anymore!" Regulus shouted as Dumbledore stood up preparing to step in but no one from Gryffindor stood up. "So now you want to act like fuckin cowards!" Regulus shouted as he cried without his knowledge, "So you will only fight if I don't fight back!" Regulus shouted as he pointed his wand at the Gryffindor table still with tears streaming down his face.
It was at this point the Hufflepuff and ravenclaw tables looked down knowing they helped contribute to Regulus pain but still no one moved until McGonagall got up slowly and walked towards Regulus who was still pointing his wand at the rest of the Gryffindors. McGonagall had picked up Regulus things and made her way up to Regulus and lowered his wand while turning him around and escorting him out of the great hall. Regulus' departure was a cruel wake up for the student, many took it as a marking point to stop targeting Regulus but unbeknownst to everyone professor Quirrel smriked but this wasn't noticed by anyone.
The following days went by rather slowly the only interesting thing that happened was hagrid's dragon egg hatched into a Norwegian ridgeback which Regulus was very adamant about hagrid sending it away it wasn't until one night when Ron returned to the common room saying it bit him Regulus snapped. "Ron you need to get to the hospital wing now." Regulus shouted as Ron looked at him funny while Harry and Hermione shared the look."it just bit me I'll be-." Ron said before Regulus spoke up. "Weasley Norwegian ridgeback's are venomous!" Regulus shouted as Ron paled before rushing out the portrait. "Potter when is his brother coming to get the dragon?" Regulus asked as Harry frowned. "Saturday why?" Harry asked as Regulus immediately started doing his astronomy homework. "Because we have a good excuse." Regulus said as both Harry and Hermione were confused. "We?" Hermione asked as Regulus rolled his eyes. "I'm just as involved as you lot so it's guilt by association. Plus knowing Weasley he left the letter in a book that someone could find." Regulus said as they nodded and started their astronomy homework.
The day came when they were supposed to meet Charlie's friends in the astronomy tower after the last class of the day Regulus walked up to McGonagall after transfiguration. "Excuse me professor but may I ask something?" Regulus asked as McGonagall looked up from her scroll over her glasses. "You may Mr lestrange." McGonagall said as she sat up. "I was wondering if I could get permission to use the astronomy tower tonight I want to double check my chart to make sure I got it right." Regulus said as McGonagall sat back. "Just you?" She asked as Regulus put on a look of disgust as part of a act.... somewhat. "No ma'am potter and Granger asked me to help with theirs so I want to ensure I was right. No matter what my personal feelings are I won't let them sabotage others." Regulus said in mock disgust I McGonagall smiled and sat forward and pulled out a empty roll of parchment and started writing.
"Very well Mr lestrange I'll allow it, I'm presuming you will be there a little before midnight to two in the morning?" McGonagall asked as Regulus nodded. "Yes professor." Regulus confirmed as McGonagall handed him the permission slip. "There you go. Is there anything else?" McGonagall asked as Regulus quickly read the note before rolling it up and putting it in his bag. "Not immediately professor but I would like to give a heads up on a prank I pulled on Malfoy." Regulus said as McGonagall raised her eyebrow. "You see professor the other day Neville came in the common room with his legs glued together saying Malfoy did it to him and so I faked a letter about a dragon." Regulus explained as McGonagall placed her hands on the desk and sighed. "And how does this helped me knowing this?" McGonagall asked as Regulus grinned. "Why professor are you telling me that you haven't been wanting to throw him in detention something and take house points from Slytherin and in such a position that professor Snape can't protect him?" Regulus said sarcastically as McGonagall caught on and smriked. "You cheeky boy.... Five points to Gryffindor." McGonagall said as Regulus smiled. "You didn't hear it from me." Regulus said as he walked away.
Later that night Regulus, Hermione and Harry were down at hagrid's with the excuse of wanting to have dinner with him as it got closer to midnight the trio got their bags together as Harry pulled out a cloak to the confusion of Regulus but before he could ask Norbert started hissing and growling in its crate as Regulus rolled his eyes and pointed his wand at the crate. "Silencio." Regulus said as the crate went silent but it was still shaking around and Harry threw the cloak over the box and it vanished answering Regulus question as Harry had a invisibility cloak but didn't question it.
After climbing up to the astronomy tower the trio made it up just as four guys on brooms land. "Let's be quick it's a small window." One says as Harry pulled off the invisibility cloak off and placed it in his bag while the four guys tied the shaking crate to their brooms as Regulus looked down at a pocket watch. "It's 1:30 best hurry." Regulus said as the four nodded and threw one invisibility cloaks of their own and disappeared. Regulus walked over to a telescope and started to adjust it. "You two adjust those two." Regulus said as Harry and Hermione adjust the telescope before Regulus looked at his homework and placed it back. "Come on we have fifteen minutes to get back to the common room." Regulus said and turned around an beginning walking with Harry and Hermione right on his heels.
"Ah got ya." A voice said as the trio was spun around to see the face of the castle caretaker Argus flich. "Students out of bed come time to get punished." Flinch cheered as her dragged the trio along be their collars. Eventually flinch dragged them infront of McGonagall who was scolding both Malfoy and Neville tho she was more lax on Neville. "But honestly professor potter has got a dragon!" Malfoy yelled as McGonagall looked up to see flinch drag her Regulus, Harry and Hermione. "More students out of bed professor." Flinch said as McGonagall sighed. "See I told you." Malfoy said as he smriked. "Relax flich these three had my permission to be out." McGonagall said as flinch and Malfoy blinked and both spoke in unison. "What?" McGonagall nodded and looked at Regulus who had pulled out the note she had written and showed it to flich. "Did you get your charts right you three?" McGonagall asked as Regulus nodded. "Yes professor our homework is correct but professor why is Neville in trouble?" Regulus stated as Neville sniffled. "I can never remember the password." Neville moaned as McGonagall sighed. "Mr longbottom and Mr Malfoy will have detention together." McGonagall said as Neville looked like he was about to cry.
"Professor McGonagall could I go with Neville to detention that way he has someone to let him in?" Regulus asked as everyone looked at him in shock. "Very well Mr lestrange I'll inform you when that time is." McGonagall said as he nodded as everyone started to their common rooms.
