Chapter Ten: Introduco
I BELIEVE I can do so many things, kahit 'yung mga bagay na sa tingin ko ay hindi ko kaya. There was a time where I doubted myself when my parents enrolled me to archery class, hindi talaga ako naniniwala na matututunan kong humawak ng pana. But look at me, archery is now my main sport.
What I'm trying to say here is, you can do anything just by practicing and making an effort to learn. Kung meron kang tiwala sa sarili ay walang imposible, katulad ngayon, hindi talaga ako marunong sumayaw, but because I keep practice and practice, I was able to learn how. Dahil lang sa tingin mo na hindi mo kaya ay hindi mo na gagawin, dahil lang sa mas magaling ang iba ay susuko ka na. Don't limit yourself to learn more, there's so much this world has to offer. Huwag mong limitahan ang sarili mo sa isang bagay lang, explore things that are beyond your ability, dahil baka magulat ka na lang na marami ka pa palang kayang gawin.
"After these steps we're going to have our solo." Ace said while wiping his sweats. It's four on Thursday afternoon, one week na kaming nagpapractice and he said that I'm making a huge improvement.
Syempre naman nag-e-effort akong matuto eh. But what? Solo?
"Solo?" I asked.
"Yeah, but don't worry, I didn't make yours as hard as mine."
"Mabuti naman." sabi ko at tumango-tango.
"Hey, didn't I thank you for what you did noong first day ng school?" tanong niya na siyang kinakunot ng noo ko.
"About what?" takang tanong ko, parang wala akong natandaan na nangyari noon.
"When you fight off those bullies." sabi niya habang inaayos ang salamin.
Ano kaya ang itsura niya kapag wala ang mga 'yon? Mas gwapo siguro.
Lumaki ang mata ko nang maalala ang tinutukoy niya pero, "Ikaw ang binubully nila non?"
"Yeah," he answered and scratched the back of his head, "it's my first day here and I don't want trouble, kaya hindi ko sila pinatulan at pinabayaan na lang."
I sigh, "Mabuti na lang at dumating ako, kung hindi ko sila pinagsabihan baka kung ano pa ang sinabi o ginawa nila sa'yo. Pero sana, Ace, learn how to defend yourself, because I am not always there to protect you."
"No, it's okay. Kaya ko naman protektahan ang sarili ko, sadyang nung time na 'yun I can't risk trouble." tugon niya.
"Sige sabi mo, now teach me."
"Good afternoon, Speces! I hope you're having a healthy and hearty lunch... It's already been two weeks since school started. Now, I'm going to announce that today... the request songs have officially closed! Mamaya kakantahin na ni Young Lady ang mga requests niyo, so, stay tuned guys!" masiglang simula ni Ate Cathy.
Nag-aayos ako ngayon para sa kakantahin ko mamaya, this is the major request of students kaya ito ang uunahin ko. I also have noticed that all song requests are songs that are popular these days. When I'm done setting up I gave Ate Cathy a thumbs up, a sign that I'm ready.
"This song is requested by many students, napag-alaman kong popular pala ngayon ang kanta na 'to, lalo na sa mga kabataan diyan. Enjoy!" announce ni Ate Cathy at sinimulan na ang tugtog.
I take a deep breath to calm my nerves.
