Third person's POV

    You were currently outside vijay's house, standing infront of the gate as you looked at the   house where vijay and his mother went inside leaving you with the unknown girl who seemed nervous. She kept glancing at the door as vijay had told the two of you to wait here while he promised to explain everything to you.

   You glance at the unknown girl and then at your phone's screen looking at the time. You sighed as it was already 6:30, your parents would worry if you don't arrive at your house in half an hour.

'Why is today so unlucky for me?'  You thought as your mind drifted off to today's incident. Your lips pressed in a thin line as you proceeded to bite the inner skin of your cheek, aggressively. The pit of your stomach felt hollow as a sharp pain shot up to your heart, feeling a burning sensation in your eyes you looked around blinking your eyes drying your tears before enough of it gathered in your eyes.

Your eyes fell on the unknown girl as she was  continuously glancing at the main door. Vijay had never mentioned about a girl, is she his girlfriend? How long have they been together? What if...she was the reason why he didn't want to get married? Your thoughts clouded your mind as you felt even more worse. You were his bestfriend and he didn't even mention her. what about your crush? Were your feelings forever going be unrequited? your thoughts trailed off as you didn't even realise you were staring at her for quite a while.

  "um..Excuse me?.." her voice pulled you out of your thoughts as you quickly looked away embarrassed as it would have felt weird being stared at. "Is something wrong? You were staring at me.." she said hesitantly, 'was i being weird?' You thought and shook your head.

"N-no, sorry i was not trying to be rude" you said quickly as you tried to laugh it off. "I was  just shocked because vijay never mentioned about his girlfriend till now" you said, your heart clenching at the word 'girlfriend'.

"O-oh" she said as a blush formed on her face, she looked at you."we've only just met yesterday" she said as a smile formed on her face, indeed she was pretty. You lips parted in shock as your expression went blank for a moment.

   "What?!" You half yelled and she gave you a hesitant smile. "How come you two are together in such a short time?!" You asked not intending to sound rude as you were just curious.

   She gave a reassuring smile "we met at the hospital, when he brought the thugs to be treated. i was mad at first because the thugs were cruely beaten but i fell for him when i found out that he beat them for the sake of the children" she trailed off as her eyes were sparking. Her words held affection as you realised that she was the one for vijay.

     You smiled as your heart was throbbing. it was over, vijay found someone. it hurts but atleast,he's happy.

"What's your name?" You asked. She jumped out of her thought as you spoke.

"Are mein wo toh batana hi bhul gayi, mein mithira aur tum? (Oh i forgot to tell you, I'm mithira and you?)" She said curiously as the nervousness from before was not there anymore.

"I'm Y/n L/n" you said as the sound of the door opening caught the attention of both you and mithira. You both looked at vijay who was walking out of the house towards the both of you.

"Let's go, Mom is waiting inside" he stated as he gestured inside. Mithira wore a nervous expression as she was hesitant to go inside. You and vijay both noticed her nervousness.

"Mithira, Don't be nervous" you reassured her as you moved your hand placing it on her shoulder. "Aunty can be intimidating but she's just a cheerful mother who wants the best for her son, and i know you're the best vijay could ever get" you said and gave a light squeeze to her shoulder before withdrawing your hand.

"Thank you y/n" mithira said and exhaled letting her worries to melt. She nodded as vijay looked at you two thinking how women's can get along in such short time. She walked inside but stopped before the door. vijay remained outside waiting for you.

"I'm going home" you said as you looked at mithira who was waiting for you two at the door.

"Right now?, let me drop you at home" he suggested as he took out the car keys from his pocket. You smiled sadly remembering how he said you were one of his close people.

"No i can go by myself, i don't wanna burden you" you said as the feeling of sadness overwhelm. Your eyes burned as tears were gathering slowly, you were thankful as it was dark and your glossy eyes weren't noticed by vijay.

"But it's late and it's unsafe to travel alone, i can drop you home safely" he said and the memory of the day you two met flashed in your mind. A small giggle escaped your mouth and vijay looked at you confused "what's so funny?, You're being weird" he said and started his overdramatic acting.

  You would've rolled your eyes at him but not right now. You couldn't try and act normal.
"Dramatic fellow! Now go, she needs you more than me right now" you said as you pushed him lightly towards his house. He looked at the direction of mithira and then you nodding as he started moving. "Wait" you called out not wanting him to go away, he looked back at you. "Uh..she has a beautiful smile" you said making excuses.

   Vijay smiled "but I'm not gonna give her to you!" He joked matching his cheerful personality. You sighed and smiled at his remark. "Y/n, take care"  he said as now  his expression was serious and concern showed in his eyes. It felt like a goodbye to you as your love will forever remain unrequited.

Forever.

"Yeah" you said and turned around leaving from there as you got into an auto rickshaw. You let your tears fall, silently crying as the wind  helped dry your tears.
