Third Person's POV

"Good morning miss y/n" you heard a familiar voice and turned around. A faint  smile crossed your lips and you nodded.

"Good morning miss annie" you greeted her as your eyes landed on the wound on her elbow. "What happened? It looks bad" you said pointing at the wound with concern.

"Oh this, yesterday..." She paused and looked at you with a knowing gaze.
"I was in a accident with nidhi" she said as your eyes widened.

"What?!, i- i mean accident?" You said concern lacing your voice. Now you understood why you didn't see them yesterday, and nidhi? Was she okay?

"No need to worry, nidhi is fine and as you can see i am too" she reassured and you let out a sigh of relief. "Vijay dropped me home so no big deal" she said with a tight lipped smile.

"Then it's fi-" you paused and looked at her dumbfounded. "You're referring to Joseph? Guess you mixed up his name" you gave an awkward smile.

"No, why would i mix up his name? His name is vijay" she said and crossed her arms. "And I've some things to discuss with you" she added.

You stared at her and she gave off a scary vibe, she knew who vijay was. Did that mean he told her? Your heart clenched a bit as you bit your lower lip, chewing the skin as if it was a gum.

"And when i went to the bakery, rajendra told me everything" she finished her explanation. You both had free classes so you listened to her talking about the incidents of yesterday.

Both of you were sitting beside the ground as miss annie told you how she knew vijay's identity. Honestly, you were surprised would be an understatement. She found out about vijay and also about how you were connected to his past.

The current situation was not in your favor, you hadn't seen vijay since you confessed and Miss Annie knew everything. Everything was a mess.

"So, now you know everything" you said  fidgeting with the hem of your top. "You..must feel that it's weird"

Miss Annie looked at you and placed her hands on top of yours, bringing your  attention to her. "It is and I can't explain my thoughts on this..but, I'm not someone to give my opinion on some else's life" she said with a smile and you felt yourself relaxing.

The unwavering look on her eyes was admirable, she was a strong woman... unlike you who was always worried. Were you comparing her to yourself?

Yes.

She is so nice, maybe she was a better choice for vijay. Were you going to give up on vijay, again? That's complicated to answer. Vijay has been someone who influences your life greatly and letting him go again didn't feel like a good idea.

"Mis-" your words get interrupted as nidhi comes running to Miss. Annie, giving her a huge smile and you looked around to find students going home. You realized that the school had ended.

"Oh nidhi! Are you waiting for your dad?" She asked as nidhi nodded her head. You watched as they Conversed and thought they seemed closer than before.

"Let's go" miss annie spoke, bringing you out of your thoughts.

"O-oh yeah"  you responded and gulped back further words as you got up and followed after them to the school gate.

You walked after them and your steps halted, coming to a stop. Your hands grabbed a fistfull of your clothes as you looked down nervously, vijay. He was there on his bike. Your thoughts consumed you as your surrounding sounds were being blocked by your nervousness.

'what should i do?'  you thought and bit your lower lip. 'I thought i was prepared for this'  your mind wondered.

"-it's okay I'll drop you" you heard vijay speak and your head snapped back up.

"But.." miss annie spoke up hesitantly.
"I thought that i could go with miss y/n today" she finished her sentence and your eyes went to glance towards vijay.

His gaze hesitantly moved towards you for a second before he looked away. You felt like a sharp pebble which hurt everyone. Your heart sank, vijay was avoiding you.

But you deserved it, right? Because you refused to move out of his life and now... It was all messed up.

"It's fine, you can go and also your house is quite far so I'm sure it'll be more convenient for you" you spoke up your voice surprisingly put together.

"I-" miss annie began to speak but you placed your hand on her shoulder and nodded at her with a convincing smile.

"I'll go" you said and walked out before she could protest any further. Your feets felt heavy, as if you had worn weights on each of them.

Why  weren't you brave enough? Had you confessed years ago, it wouldn't have come to this, right?....or it would have been the same?
