Third Person's POV
After the scene vijay just did, you were surprised would be an understatement. You were confused and his reaction was also not helping. A little hope emerged inside your hopeless heart and you started expecting things. It was not right, he has his wife and a child. You bit your lower lip and your thoughts came to a halt as you hear the bike's engine starting.
"Come sit" vijay said nodding his head to the back of the bike. You looked at him with trouble expression. "What?" He asked noticing your hesitance.
"Just the two of us?" You asked back and he nodded. "What about nidhi?" You added and he shook his head at your questions.
"I sent her with miss annie, and why are you asking so much questions? just get on" he stated waiting for you to sit on the bike.
He sent nidhi with annie? It did seem like they were close but you didn't think that he would trust his child with someone else. You shook your head and looked at vijay who was looking at the mirror adjusting it.
"Oh..." You mumbled and sat on the bike facing one side. Your hands found it's way to hold the back of the bike as you secured your bag in-between you and vijay. "Let's go"
Vijay slightly faced back noticing your hold on the bike. "Do you want to fall with your face flat on the ground?" He asked and you looked at him with scrunched nose, confused at his question.
"What are you saying?" You asked. Today you seemed to ask many questions to him.
"I mean to say, you'll slip if you sit like that and moreover there are some bad roads ahead in the way" he explained and you understood what he was saying but you couldn't just bring yourself to hold onto him. After you didn't hold onto him he sighed and looked ahead ready to drive away.
"So you choose to fall flat face on the ground" he said and started the bike. He was right, the roads were bad somewhere and you felt like you would slip any moment. You sighed in defeat and placed your hands on his shoulders.
Your heart was beating fast but you didn't dare bring any hope to to your heart. Unknown to you a faint smile crept on Vijay's lips as you held his shoulders.

He stopped infront of a shop and told you to go inside. You looked at the small building which was apparently a bakery. You breathed out nervously and went inside. A jingling sound was made and you entered the shop.
"Welcome!" You looked at the man, your expression going to a surprised one as his expression seemed to match yours.
"Y/n madam!" He exclaimed and a big smile appeared on his face."Sir Rajendra" you called out and went towards him stopped at a good distance. "I didn't expect to see you here after you disappeared unknownly" you stated and he gave you an awkward laugh.
"Yes, i accompanied vijay sir after the incident" he spoke and a sad look passed his face remembering the past.
"But what are you doing here?" He asked masking his sadness behind the question."Oh..vijay brought me here" you replied and his face broke into a knowing smile his eyebrows raised a little. You felt embarrassed all of a sudden and gave a half smile to him.
"Rajendra, manage the customers i have some things to discuss with her" vijay said entering the shop, saving you from the embarrassment. He gestured you to follow him and you quickly followed after him.
He walked inside a room at the back which seemed like the kitchen. Trays full of breads were kept on the table ready to be served. You roamed your eyes around the room and found some packets and mostly utensils kept neatly on the side.
"Sorry, i know it may be a little bit uncomfortable to talk in the kitchen" you heard vijay speak and turned around to find him placing two chairs on the side. "Sit here" he pointed at the chairs.
"It's fine, I don't mind it" you spoke and walked to the chair making yourself comfortable sitting on the chair. "Moreover, i want to hear the reason which caused you to live here and run a bakery after..." You halted your speech not wanting to see the same sad look as sir Rajendra's on Vijay's eyes.
Vijay sensed your hesitancy and sat on the other chair just besides you. "The incident, i know i could've went back but i choose to run... because i promised mithira" he spoke pain evident on his voice.
"Promise? What promise?" You asked being curious as to what the promise could be.
"I promised her to never go back to being a...police if i want to raise nidhi"
Vijay rubbed his temple seemingly trying to reduce the pain."That's not right, i understand her trying to protect her child but, being a police officer is what you want..." You blurted out hastily and placed your hands on his shoulder. "Where is she? We'll have to talk to her..this can't go on, it's not too late vijay" you spoke trying to convince him.
"It's too late y/n" he replied and you looked at him confusingly.
"She's dead" he said.
'what does that mean?' your mind questioned and you looked at vijay to see if you heard right. The confusion on your face disappeared changing into wide eyed expression. "What?"
"She's dead, she died in the explosion that night with my mother.." vijay confirmed with sad eyes and voice filled with pain.
"But..but you survived with Nidhi, right?" You questioned denying the reality. Hoping it was not real.
"Yeah.. because mithira saved us, until her last breath" he choked out and you realized he was crying. "I wanted to save her, take both of them with me but mom was already dead and she couldn't be saved" he rubbed his thumb under his eyes wiping the tears.
You remained silent and sat there wanting to hug him and comfort him but you were also crying silent tears. He took in a sharp breath and huffed out a breath calming his condition.
"It was a murder, a politician shot mithira and before i knew it the back of my head was hit..." He explained and you wiped your tears as anger boiled up in you for the criminals. "She...even when she was shot she..." His tears again spilled and he paused to cry.
You reached his back providing some comfort to him. It hurt your heart to see him like this. He swiftly turned to you and side hugged you tightening hus grip around you. You flinched at the sudden movement but he needed support.
"Sorry" you mumbled to him lowly as it it didn't get noticed by him. You thought about how much he has struggled, being a single dad to a 8 year old child while also dealing with the death of his mother and wife. Your pain got lost along his and a look of regret passed through your face.
'i'll be here, even if I'm needed or not' you thought and patted his back as he stayed there crying and hugging you for a lot of time.
