Chapter 11: Time Warden's Suffering [End of Part 1]

After stopping Kronii from making that annoying smile, Ame finally continued on with her explanation.

"In order to find out what exactly happened back then, I went back in time to the time of the gathering. It ended up being much more work than expected because I had to avoid your past self being unnecessarily sharp. I could only go around freely when you started downing drinks like crazy," Ame shook her head remembering the troubles she went through.

In addition to doing her best to avoid an incident that could cause a change in the timeline, she also had to avoid past Kronii's watchful eyes. Kronii had always been sensitive to any changes in the time department, and having her attention would definitely give her even more problems.

Kronii nodded her head proudly in response, "Ehem, it's only right for me to be cautious of things like that, you know? Hehe..."

"It wasn't a compliment, dumbass." Ame retorted before continuing, "Anyway, the first person that I spotted carrying my experiment was Mumei. Then, I saw her share it with Fauna while passing through. Thankfully, Shiori and Nerissa didn't take a sip from it. Finally, she shared it with Irys and Bae, who were hanging out together, before leaving it on the pile of unfinished drinks."

With this, it was confirmed that the four of them had indeed taken the drink. Kronii sighed before asking, "Did anyone else take a sip of your creation?"

"Nope. The drink looked pretty full when I saw Mumei carrying it. I doubt anyone else had taken a sip from it before I saw her. I also immediately threw out the drink so no one else would have a chance to get affected by it." Ame explained.

"And how sure are you that nobody else took a sip of it?" Kronii raised one of her eyebrows as she asked further. The thought of another incident happening to someone else sent a shiver down her spine. She wouldn't wish this kind of fate upon anyone, not even her worst enemy.

"I've gone and visited every single HoloEN member in secret to make sure none of them were acting out of the ordinary," said Ame with an empty stare. The exhaustion on her face seemed even more apparent.

"O-Oh, so that's why you're... Ehem, you've worked hard." Kronii could only offer some words of appreciation to Ame.

"Shut it, I don't want to hear that from you." Ame dismissed Kronii's words of pity in annoyance. "Anyway, I can confirm that those four were the only people affected right now."

"Phew, that's good to know," Kronii let out a sigh of relief from Ame's confirmation. Although it would be good to have a company in misery, it would be best if nothing happened to anyone else.

Suddenly, a thought crossed Kronii's mind, "Why did this concoction of yours end up making them fall for me, though? I thought it was supposed to amplify their existing emotions, not make new ones."

Ame stared at Kronii in exasperation after hearing Kronii's muttering, "...You're really dense, you know that?"

"Hey, where did that come from?" Kronii flinched in surprise at the sudden insult. She couldn't understand why Ame would slander her out of nowhere when she'd only raised a valid question that was bugging her mind.

"Don't think too much about it, I don't really feel like explaining it right now." Ame brushed away Kronii's complaint before standing up. "Anyway, I did promise you that I'd resolve this issue. I've actually made the antidote for it."

"Seriously?" Kronii stood up in surprise; it was the best news she'd heard all day.

"Of course I am. I carried it along during the gathering in order to quickly remove the effects before it could get out of control during the truth or dare. Did you really think I would make something that dangerous and not have the antidote around?" Ame explained herself to Kronii.
