I hummed as I walked beside Tanjiro- whilst he held the heavy cart and walked with straight strides, like most people in my generation I just couldn't walk straight.
I swayed as I walked sometimes slipping in snow but quickly saying I'm fine before Tanjiro had the time to ask, ugh he was way too sweet.
Soon we reached the main town and it practically tiny
'woaah so this is RURAL rural' I thought as I looked at the town- which was literally just a street or two 'wooahh, wow wow woaahh' I just stared in awe at how simple it was, wow I'm gonna have to get used to the changes- isn't demon slayer set in like the 1920s?
Tanjiro being the good boy he was had already started handing out some coal whilst I was too busy ogling at the pretty scene. I hastily walked over to join him as an elderly man took a bit of coal and I watched as he handed Tanjiro some coins.
'woahh woahh aren't those yen? woaahhh' and I was back to aweing Hmm I should probably be useful
"Hey Tanjiro-san?," I nudged him with my hand lightly after the man went back to his house "Can I go sell some? then we'll finish quicker!" Tanjiro smiled at me and asked "Do you know how much it costs?" I excitedly nodded "Well as long as you don't get scammed then alright, just stay close okay? don't go too far or you might get lost now you are ill after all, anything wrong and you come here okay?"
Tanjiro then filled a small bag with coal and handed it to me "right here you go- there are 6 pieces In this and if each is about 60 yen then hmm.." He thought for a while "You should come back with 360 yen if you sell them all!"
I focused on him, I didn't really like doing eye contact- not that I hated it, it was just a bit awkward, so I would look in his eyes but look around every few seconds- I instead observed his work ridden hands, the vapour come out him as he breathed into the snow- the scar on his head. Yes he was pretty and I was gonna wife his ass up
"oh I see! I'll come back pretty quick bye now!" I gave a small wave as I walked away eyeing a shop that a lady ran- she seemed to be selling little cakes. They looked so good!
"Hello miss! it seems awfully cold and well we have some coal for fire!" I pointed at the little bag I held as I showed her "only 60 yen- I'm helping Tanjiro-san today!" I beamed up at her as she smiled.
"Why what a charming young lady! Well I'll take the usual amount then" she added
"sooo one?" I wasn't sure what the 'usual was' after all I didn't know these people unlike Tanjiro,
She laughs kindly, "Yes, one" She then hands me 60 yen as I hand her the charcoal- I had asked her for some cloth to wrap it in
"So you don't get your hands dirty, I'm sure you need clean hands to make those yummy cakes" I add
"why yes speaking of my cakes, would you like this one? its quite small so I can give it for free as a thanks for you and Tanjiro"
