"Thank you for saving me." Anastasia thanked her friend when they got in the car.

"Don't thank me. I'll always save you." Leo looked over at her. Anastasia smiled and blushed. She looked away but she knew Leo saw her red cheeks.

"Come on, let's get your revenge." She cleared her throat. Leo nodded and started driving.

"Can you open my drink?" He asked. She nodded and grabbed his monster out of the cupholder and opened it. Before she gave it to him she took a drink, she was in desperate need of caffeine. "I didn't ask you to drink my drink." Leo playfully rolled his eyes at her.

"Shut up. I bought it." Anastasia chuckled and gave him the drink.

"You got herpes? You put your mouth all over the drink." He joked.

"Fuck off asshat. I waterfalled." She shook her head and laughed. "I wasn't planning on going outside tonight." She let out a breath.

"Yeah well, plans always change on purge night."

"Yep." She opened her bag and grabbed a sharpie out of it.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked as he looked over at her.

"Just in case I get separated from you or die I need to write my emergency contact on my arm." Anastasia told him.

"You're not gonna die. I won't let you." Leo said.

"It's just in case." She opened the marker and wrote Mary's name and phone number on it.

"Who is that?" Leo asked.

"My sister in law. My parents died and my brother died last purge so, Mary and my niece and nephew are my only family left." She sighed.

"If you don't, mind me asking, how did your brother die?" Leo asked as they drove down the abandoned street.

"I was at their house because I had lost my job so I was staying with them and I always stay with them on purge night anyway. But me and my nephew, Charlie, were sitting in his secret room after we locked down the house. Charlie saw this man on the cameras when he was driving this robot he made around the house. He then left the room and I followed and saw the man. Charlie and I both let him in and the people who were after the stranger told us to give them the stranger or they would kill all of us. Long story short they broke in and the leader killed my brother. He is the one I shot in the face." Anastasia looked out of the window.

"I'm sorry." He sighed.

"How did your son die?" She asked.

"He was walking home from school and the son of a bitch that killed him was driving drunk, he hit him. He should have gone to jail but was acquitted on legal technicalities." Leo gripped the steering wheel.

"I'm sorry." Anastasia put her hand on his leg. He looked over at her and sighed.

"He died one year ago today. Just like your brother."

"After you kill the guy, you wanna go get drunk?" Stacy asked.

"That sounds good." Leo smiled at his neighbor.

Anastasia leaned forward and connected her phone to his car. She opened spotify and played Loyalty by Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna.

"Have you ever heard this song?" She asked Leo.

"Yeah." He nodded.

"I love this song." She turned the volume up.

After a few songs Leo turned the volume down. "How did Harold even get you tied up?" Leo asked. "I know you would have put up a fight and he would have been dead by the time i got there."

"I had an anxiety attack when the sirens started going off and I passed out from it. When I woke up I was tied up on my bed." Anastasia faced him. "Why did you wanna know?"

"It just surprised me when I walked into your apartment and saw you tied up." He said. Anastasia turned around when she heard a siren.

"Holy shit. Did you see that?" She asked as the burning fire truck drove. Leo nodded and continued driving down the road. Leo made a turn and there was an 18-wheeler parked in front of an apartment complex. Anastasia leaned forward and looked down the dark street at the trunk. Leo did the same and turned off his headlights. They saw crying woman run out of the building and down a dark alley.

"The hell." She whispered. Leo slowed the car down to keep safe distance when they saw two women being dragged out of the apartment complex by people dressed up like they were going to war. They were fighting like hell to stop being dragged from their home.

Anastasia froze, she grabbed onto Leo's arm. He could feel her shake, he looked over at her and sighed. Leo started pulling the car over. He fully stopped the car and leaned back. He kept repeating 'Just drive' to himself.

"You're not gonna just drive are you?" Anastasia asked.

"Nope." He grabbed his gun and went to open the door. "Stay in the car." Leo told her.

"Yes sir." She gave him a salute. "Be careful." She told him. Leo nodded his head and walked towards the group. He shot at the people killing each one of them. "Fuck me." She started biting her nails as she saw the back of the 18 wheeler open up revealing a giant machine gun.

Anastasia's attention was brought away from Leo being a badass to the two people who just hopped in the backseat.

Anastasia grabbed her gun and cocked shoving it in the couple's face. "Who the fuck are you and why are you in this car?" She took off the safety of her Glock 19.

"Please! Just let us stay!" The girl sobbed.

"We're not gonna hurt you!" The guy held his hands up. Anastasia looked away from him and looked back at Leo. There was a man sneaking up behind him.

"Shit. Stay here. Don't fucking move." Anastasia got out of the car and yelled to Leo. "Leo! Duck!" She yelled. He ducked down and she shot the man three times. He fell backwards. Leo nodded his head and walked back to the car with the two women following.

As soon as she got back in the car she returned pointing her gun at the couple. Leo opened the door and saw Anastasia pointing her gun towards the backseat. He immediately pointed the gun at them as well.

"Get out of the car now!" Leo began yelling at them. The girl started crying and Leo looked back towards Anastasia. She looked back at the couple and then back at Leo, she nodded her head and he nodded his head back. Leo still had his gun raised but Anastasia put hers down. She looked back at the 18 wheeler and saw the man in the trunk starting to get up.

The couple still were yelling at Leo telling them to let them stay.

"Shit. Leo!" Anastasia yelled but her yell was concealed by the couple who were more frantic since they saw something behind them. Anastasia turned the volume of the radio all the way up and back down causing everyone to look at her. "Get in the fucking car now! He's getting up. We have to go like yesterday Leo!" She yelled. Leo looked at the truck and cursed. He got in the car and the two women squeezed in the backseat.

"You should have let Harold kill me Leo. You would have already been through the city and wouldn't have had to stop." Anastasia sighed as Leo stepped on the gas. The man was now fully standing up and he began shooting at them.

"Shut up Ana." Leo told her as he made a sharp turn down the road. Anastasia ducked down to avoid getting shot as they turned.

The people in the car didn't hear their conversation since they were too busy screaming.

The group of people that were following them turned away since the shooter began shooting at them.
