"It's so quiet here." The white girl said. It was so quiet in the business district that Anastasia almost thought they were in a ghost town.

"The business district is always quiet on purge night. The banks move their money, no one's ever down here." Leo said.

"Well that's no fun. If I ever did participate in the purge I would just steal money." Anastasia shrugged.

"Let's go." Leo ignored Anastasia's comment and they all followed him down the sidewalk. A few seconds after walking Leo tells them to stop and walks ahead. Anastasia went to follow him but he shook his head and walked farther.

"You know, I don't even know your names. I'm Liz, this is Shane." The white girl said.

"Eva, my daughter, Calli." Eva said. They all looked over at Anastasia who was eating some M&Ms.

"Oh, sorry. My name is Anastasia but you guys can call me Stacy." She offered the M&Ms.

"Nice to officially meet you on this shitty night." Shane grabbed them from her hand and poured some into his mouth.

Anastasia looked down and saw that her shoe was untied so she bent down and quickly tied it. The group all started talking about Leo so Anastasia took that as her que to leave. She caught up with Leo and he shook his head at her.

"I told you to stay back." He sighed.

"I know, but they started asking questions about you so I just walked away." She shrugged.

"Let them talk, I don't care." Leo rolled his eyes. "Hey!" He pointed and the group started following them again.

The group walked closer and continued to talk loud enough to where Leo could hear.

"All I'm saying is that he's out here, armed to the teeth on purge night, voluntarily. Which means he's trying to do something nasty." Shane continued to speak loudly. Anastasia stopped walking and turned to face Shane.

"You know, you're talking kind of loud in a dead silent area. There is no noise except for you. We can all hear you." Anastasia told him.

"He didn't hea-" Shane started.

"I can hear you." Leo said, causing them to be silent. Anastasia turned around and caught up to Leo.

"Told you." Anastasia said to Leo, he just shook his head at his friend.

Calli soon joined Stacy and Leo at the front of the group. Leo stuck his arm out causing Calli to stop walking.

"What's your name?" She asked. Leo just told her to shh. Which caused her to roll her eyes.

"You're good with guns. I'm guessing you're either a cop or criminal." Calli said.

"I'm guessing you're either a pain in my ass or a pain in my ass." Leo retorted. Anastasia chuckled but covered her mouth to not make noise.

"You're out here to do it, aren't you?" She asked. "To purge. It's what you have to do later on, right? What are you going to do?" She asked.

Anastasia opened her mouth to scold this kid but Leo looked over at her which caused her to shut her mouth.

"Stop. Okay, new rules. You shut up. All of you shut up." Leo looked at everyone except for Anastasia.

"I'm gonna stop talking because you're being an asshole, not because you told me to shut up." Calli said. Anastasia and Leo both rolled their eyes and Calli continued walking. Before she got too far Leo grabbed her arm and pulled her behind them.

Anastasia walked forward but jumped back into Leo's chest when she saw the dead banker strung up. "Son of a bitch." She closed her eyes.

"You okay?" Leo whispered in her ear, which caused her to blush.

"Yeah." She cleared her throat and started walking. Shane read the sign that hung on the dead man but Anastasia didn't wish to hear it.
