𝑺𝒌𝒚𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝑶'𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒍

Ringing the bell constantly to piss Tessa off, I was looking over my shoulder to look at my best friend who was snickering hard behind me. But what had me confused is that I couldn't hear anyone coming to get the door. I started to think maybe Tessa wasn't home, but then we heard a yell, saying they were coming. I heard the lock turn and then the door was pulled open. I was about rush inside, but I stopped when I was greeted by Mila. She was staring wide eyed at me, but I did too, since I wasn't expecting her to be here at all. I couldn't get a word out of my mouth even if I tried, multiple times, but nothing seemed to come out of me.

'Hey Mila!' Matt said on a bright tone, coming to stand next to me.

'H-hi.' she said, stuttering a little, as her eyes never left mine. I felt an undescribeable feeling inside of me, just by looking at her.

'Can we come in?' Matt asked, laughing a little, when he saw we were stuck in the moment.

'Oh, yeah sure!' Mila said, stepping out of our way, so we could go inside, which Matt did inmediately, but I couldn't seem to do anything. Feeling paralyzed by Mila's stare, the weight of unsaid words even after this one day were pressing down on us, but I needed to stay strong. So with a clear of my throath I moved forward and inside the house, trailing after my best friend, who was already inside the house, flopping down to the couch he turned the tv on.

I felt incredible uncomortable, I didn't even remember why we came here in the first place with Matt, because all I knew was that I suddenly didn't want to be here anymore. Feeling my chest tighten, when she came inside the living room too, stopping at the treshold, leaning against the door frame, she didn't come any closer.

'Do you want me to get Tessa for you or...' she started, not really knowing how to deal with this situation. Well atleast that made the two of us.

Scraching the back of my neck I was about to say that we are heading out and we just wanted to do a prank or something, but Matt beat me on it and he spoke up first.

'Yes please.' and with a nod of her head, Mila dissapeared somewhere in the house.

Cursning under my breath at how oblivous my best friend was, I walked up and smacked him in the back of his head, earning from him to jump off the couch and stare at me wide eyed.

'What was that for?' he asked, obviously offended.

'What do you think?' I glared at him. 'Come on we are going home now!' I whisper hissed grabbing his arm I started to pull him towards the front door, but he dugged his heels into the ground.

'What's the fuck is your problem Skyler?' Matt laughed, snatching his arm out of my grip.

'Don't act so stupid, my problem is-' I started, but I heared chuckling from the hallway, so I shut my mouth. And I was glad that I did, because the girls appeared in the hallway, with an ever laughing Tessa and a seemingly worried Mila.

'What are you guys doing here?' Tessa asked, coming to hug Matt, kissing him after.

'We are going to the cinema.' Matt stated earning for me to groan.

'Okay, I'm in!' Tess said, of course. But then the couple was looking at me and Mila, waiting for us to answer.

'It's a no for me.' I told them inmediately, confusion making its way on Matt's face.

'What? We planned this togethe-' he started, but I cut him off.

'Like I said, I'm not going.' I said again, much annoyed now.

'I don't think I can make it either.' Mila said, fidgeting with her hands.

'Come on, Mila!' Tessa whined. 'It'll be good I promise!' she said with a pout on her lips, the one she convinced Matt on anything, but by the looks not Mila.

'Thank you, but I'm really tired.' she said, only looking at her best friend, trying not to aknowledge the fact that there were two other people in the room too.

'Are you sure?' Tessa asked again, putting a hand on Mila's arm, who smiled warmly at her friend.

'Yeah, I'm sure!' she nodded.

'Okay then Mr and Mrs boring!' Matt joked, pulling on Tessa's amrs. 'Come on babe, we're gonna be late!'

'Wait we have to drop Mila off!' Tessa said, looking at her boyfriend.

'But I've already booked the tickets, we have like twenty minutes to get there.' my best friend explained.

'It's okay, I can call Logan to come pick me up.' Mila spoke up, pulling her phone out of her pocket.

'I-I can take you home.' I blurted out with my eyes closed. Heart beating out of my chest, when I was only greeted with the silence.

Pearing my eyes open I saw Mila staring at me, eyes widened, just like the rest of the group did.

'Only if y-you want me to, of course!' I hurried to say, trying to ease the tension that I felt rising between us. 'You know what, forget it, it was stup-' I countinued on rambleing and I've never been so embarassaed in my life, than in that exact moment, when I was looking at Mila, who was I think confused and scared at the same time, feeling my two friends' heavy stares on me. It was just too much. I was about to turn around and get the fuck out of the house, when I heard a quiet voice, speaking in front of.

'Okay!' Mila said, looking up from staring at her hands. Our eyes locked, but I couldn't tell what hers said, because I was lost at how beautiful they were.

'Well glad that it's settled, but we have to go like right now!' Matt said, getting more unpatiente by the minute.

'Go ahead guys, we'll be out there in a minute.' Tessa said, walking up to Mila with an assuring smile on her face. She didn't have to tell me twice to do so, I literally bolted for the door and walked out to the cold january air. A brezze hit my face and I came back to my senses after what happened inside. Matt followed me a few seconds later.

'What was that?' he asked, laughing clapping his hands on my shoulders, while I buried my face into my palms in agony.

'I don't know.' I groaned.'I have no I idea Matt!' I admitted, because I really didn't know what was wrong with me. I was never, ever like this. I always made my decisions cautiously and now, I was just blurting things out, without thinking about them at all and if I want to be honest, it scared me, because if a girl that I only met today changes me this much, well then I was fucked.

'Okay, we are ready!' Tessa, said closing the door behind her, Mila walking up to me.

'Come on!' I said turning to where my mom's car parked in front of the house. Not saying a word Mila just trailed after me, stopping when she reached the passanger side, waiting for me to open the car so we can sit inisde it and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a nervous wreck at the simple thought that there'll only be the two of us. Chasing that thought away, trying to calm myself down I hopped into the driver's seat.

Staritng the ignition when the both of us were sat, I pulled out from in front of Tessa's house, with two beeps and we were already on the road, with my palms sweating on the steering wheel, great this will be longest drive in my whole life.

'Uhm and where do you live exactly?' I asked with a clear of my throath, glancing at Mila who was staring out of the window. When she heard my quiestion she tore her gaze from the outside world and looked at me. My heart instantly picked up. 'Here type it in.' I said, handing her my phone.

She hesitated for a moment, but in the end took it and did as I told her to. She gave my phone back and I looked at it.
