The day came to its end quite fast. Way faster than I thought it would and to be honest, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, because let's face it, I was a nervous wreck, worrying over how it would go, before I even stepped inside the building, but it was a positive experience.

Tessa and I were together for most of the breaks, talking in front of our lockers, the way we always imagined it and as good as it was, this whole thing felt pretty surreal. Finally getting to live a normal life, the life I missed out on ever since I was a little girl, it was magical for me and I knew it meant a lot to Tessa too, since we grew up together always taking about how our teenage years will look like and now here we were actually living it out.

'What's on your mind?' Tessa asked, snapping me out of my trance, I even needed to blink a few times to readjust my eyes so they'd focus on my best friend who stopped walking in the middle of the empty corridor.

'Sorry, what?' I asked, because I didn't hear what she said to me.

'I asked what's on your mind. I've been talking to you about how much I hate maths and you didn't react anything.' my best friend said, letting out a small chuckle. 'Are you okay?'

'Yeah, of course!' I nodded and I actually meant it this time, I think Tessa saw it too. 'Just, it feels-' I started thinking on what words I should use to express my feelings. 'good to be here, it feels right.' I said on a small voice, feeling so many emotions inside of me.

'Come here.' Tess said, pulling me into a hug by my wrist. Wrapping her arms around me she held onto me tightly, just as I did. 'I'm so happy you're here.' she whispered into my ears. 'You deserved to get out of that house after seventeen fucking years.' she chuckled, but my stomach knotted at her words, but I couldn't deny them, because out of all people I knew the best that I needed to get away from home.

'Now come on, you come over to my house and we can study together.' Tessa stated, as she pulled away from our long lasted hug.

'I need to ask dad first.' I told her, as we started to walk out of the school, hooking my arm through hers.

'Okay.' she smiled, dragging me towards her car, but before we could make it to the vehicle, I saw a familiar black car pull up in front of the school. It was my brother Logan, to come pick me up, just like my father insited.

He turned off the engine of his dream car and got out of it. He was a tall boy, well man, with board shoulders and messy dark blonde hair, that he got from our father. His eyes started to search for me and it didn't take him long to find me, because there literally weren't any people outside of Portland High.

When his eyes locked on mine, he let out a smile, when he saw who I was standing there with. He then started to walk up to us, with his hands in his jean pockets, like he usually does.

'Hi girls!' he said, hugging me, when he arrived in front of us. 'How was your day?' he asked, directing his words to me, excitement shining in his eyes.

'It was good.' I smiled at him kindly. 'It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.' I explained, earning my brother to let out a breath of what I assumed was relife. Yeah he was probably worried sick through the day, just like dad.

'That's good.' he smiled, then turned to Tessa. 'And yours?' Logan asked, yeah he was always really polite, including everyone at all times.

'Shit.' my best friend muttered under her breath, earing snickers from me and my brother. 'Except the fact that Mila was here.' she said, smiling warmly at me.

'Right, so are you coming Mila?' Logan asked, looking back at his car, gesturing for me that it's time for us to go home.

'Well actually, Tessa asked me to go to her house so we can study together.' I said, looking at my brother, knowing that he can't give me an answer to that.
