Sirius Blacks point of view:
One drink turned to two, two turned to five and after the fifth I forgot how to count all together. Me and James had wondered about on the streets for a bit, popping into a few clubs for a quick drink and dance but then leaving.
While waking around in the cold night air, James turned to me, "I'm probably gonna head back now, Lily will be waiting for me. You want a lift?"
I shook my head sloppily, "Nah, Regulus' isn't far from here anyway. Thanks for tonight."
"Are you sure you don't want a lift?" James confirmed.
"Yeah, save the hassle." I skipped over my words.
"Alright then." He said, slightly tense and walked away.
Now with only my thoughts to keep me company, I began to head back. I had drowned the world out, I wasn't paying attention to anything around me but my mind. I just let my feet take me where I thought I was going and let them stumble when they decided to.
Because I wasn't paying any attention I must of completely missed the brick that just lay in the middle of the pavement. I flew over the and landed on the concrete floor with to paints in my head, one was defiantly a cut.
I lay there slightly defenceless, I didn't know what to do ; so I just lay there, hoping some magical force would just swoop me off my feet.
"Sirius! Oh my word are you alright?" The voice of Father Lupin came rushing towards me. Well... swooped off my feet now indeed. His hands made there way to my arms and pulled me up, "Oh my, you have glass in your forehead!"
"Father." I blurted out my head going back and forth. "How- why- where did you come from?"
"I was just uh..." he paused, he seemed slightly flustered, "Leaving the church. Had to do some admin stuff first. Where did you come from?"
"I was out with James for a bit, or something." Coherent thought? Hardly know her.
His face dropped slightly, "You're drunk aren't you?" I didn't even have to say anything, his hands went to mine and he gasped slightly, "You're freezing? Right let's get you home and warmed up, come on."
He dragged me the opposite way to Reggies house, "But Reggies is down there." I pointed behind me as Father Lupin dragged me forward.
"I don't think Regulus will be happy if you came home drunk and bleed all over his white suede sofa, will he?" He stopped walking and raised an eyebrow.
I sighed, "Yeah... you're right."
"I'm always right." He brushed off as he held my arms and walked with me.
It wasn't long until we reached a house, just off the side of the church. It was one of those places where a bunch of priests lived, I didn't know the name.
When we were through the door he pulled me into his part of the house and sat me down on his sofa. He quickly took his collar off, undid the first button of his shirt and rolled up his sleeves. Wow.
He quickly grabbed some tweezers, that wound cleaning stuff and some bandages. "Alright." He leaned over me (wow) and began to remove the glass from my forehead. I winced from the sharp pain and he was quick to comfort, "Don't worry, it will be over in a minute."
As he concentrated on removing the glass from my forehead I stared up I to his eyes, drunken thoughts filled my mind. I need to find a way to see those eyes more often, more than just for half an hour a week. I could attend mass? Absolutely not.
Yet again I hissed as he removed a large shard of glass from my forehead, "Just one more. Your doing so well." He comforted. Something rose in my chest, and dam, for someone who should be abstaining from sex he sure as hell sounds like he's talking dirty (out of context of course).
His voice was soft and just suited him perfectly, his words weren't sharp and instead rolled from his mouth.
Father Lupin pulled a bandage out of his first aid box and wrapped it around my forehead applying pressure.
"I'm gonna look so stupid with these bandages." I complained.
Father Lupin chuckled a bit with a shrug, "But just think of the cool scar that comes after." He played with what he knew I would be happy with.
I lay down slightly, "Yeah I suppose so."
"I'm going to get you some water." He nodded to himself and quickly ran off to get me a glass. He came back with a full glass of water and placed it in my hand, "Here. To make you feel a tad better." He placed a paracetamol in the palm of my hand, "Do you want to talk about what happened today?"
I looked off into the distance while I explained, "I tried doing what you said, so I went to the pub with James, my mate, and I was doing all right. I had a coke. But then something got me all emotional and I just had a drink... or two."
Father Lupin raised his eyebrow, "Two?"
"I stopped counting after five." I mumbled in shame.
"That's alright." He patted my shoulder, "No one's perfect and recover takes time. You just need to keep trying and that what I'm here for."
I nodded solemnly.
"So you mentioned something happened? What was that? Maybe we can try and find other ways to deal with these things rather than drinking."
How am I supposed to tell him that I was upset because I couldn't sleep with him? That he was too hot? And just had the most dreamy eyes and...
"Umm. My girlfriend and all that you know." I made up a shitty excuse.
Father Lupin nodded in understanding, "I see. Well with that you really do just have to wait and get better so she'll have you back. But you need to take your mind off her. What if I give you my number? That way when you think of her you can text a friend instead."
A friend.
Friend.
"You have a phone?" I asked astounded.
His eyes narrowed, "Why wouldn't I?"
"Well..." I spluttered an attempt of words out, "Your a priest, are you not supposed to have those?"
Father Lupin laughed, "That's the Amish, Sirius. Now do you want my number or not?"
I nodded, "Yes please." I knew this would lead to bad things but I didn't care, I willingly allowed his to put his number into my phone."
