Flame's POV:

I gave a sigh of relief.

After I had helped Cat get ready for her date with Liam, I went out to hunt. It had been awhile since I had last fed and I could feel the weight lift off my shoulders as soon as I had sank my teeth into the deer's neck.

Walking back to the boy's house I realized that I had promised Cat that I would clean up the mess I had made in her room while I was helping her get ready. I grunted in frustration.

I hated cleaning.

Walking into the house, I saw Harry walk up to me.

"How was your hunt," he asked wrapping his hands around my waist and kissing my forehead.

"It was fine," I replied, stretching up to my tippy toes to give him a chaste kiss on the lips. Things between Harry and I were going strong. I was glad that my mate had accepted me for what I was, even after I told him about us being mates. He surprisingly was accepting of the whole thing and wanted to give us a try.

I cuddled into Harry's chest, "I have to go clean Cat's room before she comes back from her date. Do you want to help."

He scrunched up his face, "If by cleaning up you mean putting back all of her clothes into her closet and cleaning off the foundation that you spilled on her dresser, no thank you!"

I looked up at him in confusion, "How did you know I spilled her foundation?"

He raised his eyebrows, "Well you two weren't exactly quiet about it. I swear I could hear her yelling at you from all the way down here. But you have fun cleaning up." He started to walk away from me

"Gee, thanks for all the help Harry." I said sarcastically at him while rolling my eyes.

"Love you too babe!" He said.

***************

"This is taking forever." I murmured to myself as I put the last of Cat's clothes back into her closet. I still had the foundation to clean up and I was dreading having to wipe that off.

Did I mention that I hate cleaning.

Picking some paper towel up from the bathroom and a spray bottle, I started to furiously wipe at the dried up mess. I might have been using a little to much force because the next thing I knew, the foundation bottle fell off the dresser and shattered all over the floor.

I groaned and glared at the mess.

This always happened to me.

Carefully getting on my hands and knees to pick up the shards of glass, I couldn't help but notice that something was wedged between the back of the dresser and the wall. Frowning, I reached and pulled the unknown item out from it's hiding spot.

It was a curious thing to keep behind a dresser. But if my suspicsion was correct I knew exactly what this was. I carefully untied the ribbon of the dirty brown puch and opened it to reveal it's contents.

My suspicion was correct.

It was a hex bag.

Looking closer I noticed that there was a long strand of blonde hair wedged between the other ingredients of the bag.

It was a hex bag specifically made for Cat.

At least now I knew how Cat had lost her powers.

A hex bag could only be created by witches to weaken their enemies.  They were small enough to easily conceal, but the scent of the bag would waft off a poisonous smell that weakened the enemy. The smell would not be noticeable to anyone. Since Cat's hair was in the hex bag, only she was weakened by it's power.
