Recap:

"I returned to the castle to see it was absolute havoc there. My mind was so occupied in revenge that I had forgotten to tell Elizabeth and Jack about where I was going. I told them everything that had happened. They started to get worried about my safety and started to search for an eligible vampire to be one of my bodyguards."

"That is when I met Demetrius."

Cat's POV:

"This is Demetrius Hollaway. We have assigned him to be your bodyguard." explained Jack. I looked towards the unknown man. His fierce glare gave me shivers down my spine. I had a feeling he did not like me one bit.

"Why do I need a bodyguard? I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." I said a little bitterly.

"Well he is not just going to be your bodyguard Catherine, he will also be training you." replied Elizabeth.

"Training? Training for what?" I said as Demetrius rolled his eyes at me.

"We will be announcing for a royal ceremony to be happening soon. In the ceremony we will introduce you to your future subjects and also transfer some of our royal powers to you so that you can officially become the princess."

"After you have recieved these powers, you will need to learn how to control them. By that time your own personal powers should come to you as well. That is if you have any." explained Jack.

I nodded my head. It made sense. With that Jack and Elizabeth left, leaving me and Mr.Hollaway in the room alone.

"So, my name is Catherine," I said while holding up my hand to shake his. He stared at me and nodded, leaving my hand unnoticed.

"Okay," I said awkwardly while putting my hand down.

After a couple of seconds of awkward staring I finally said, "So, you got any powers?"

"No." He muttered gruffly, turning away and heading out of the room.

He seems lovely, I thought bitterly.

"Demetrius and I did not get along for quite a bit after that. My powers started to come to me once the ceremony had been completed. Demetrius over here was a harsh trainer." I said while looking over at Demetrius.

He smirked back at me in reply.

"This is useless," I said to Demetrius. We were in the forest trying to practice my ability with water. It was the only power that I just could not control.

It had been two years since I had first met Demetrius and not much had changed. There were times where I felt like I should stop trying to get through to him, but I was not going to give up.

"Keep trying," he muttered gruffly. I sighed and concentrated on the river in front of me.

Nothing happened.
