Felix charged straight at me despite our friendly banter about who is going to beat who in this little spar of ours. Neither of us were going to simply let the other win. I was determined to stand my ground and keep myself upright.

"If you think you can beat me, then think again. I will not be holding back on you anymore"

I frowned and chuckled. "This is you holding back? Seems to me that you're trying way too hard as it is. Back down now before I win by default because you decided to give yourself a stroke."

He slowly raised his fists and had that smug smirk on his face.

"You won't be saying that when I send you into the infirmary."

I stayed calm and collected despite the fact that we were both being cocky towards one another throughout this entire fight and I wasn't surprised when he tried to intimidate me by threatening to send me into the infirmary. He wouldn't beat me up that badly. And frankly, I don't think I could hurt him beyond repair either. However, we still took this as a competition while also being curious to see how each other fight. After all, I am a former member of The Elite Strike Force and he is a current member of The Resistance as their weapon's master.

We had been fighting for a while now, it was clear that we were both evenly matched as the spar went on, with both of us throwing some powerful strikes at each other. It was intense if I do say so myself as I could tell that we were both getting tired gradually with each movement, until eventually, Felix had me pinned to the ground after I doubled over from a blow to my stomach.

Despite the pain in my stomach and muscles, I wedged my knee between him and myself. Kicking him off me and quickly reversed the pin while he staggered back.

"Game. Over." I spoke through my pants, sweat gliding down my forehead in the glinting sun.

"Alright, alright, you win this time Rin. But just know that I let you."

"That's bullshit and you know it!"

I released him from the pin I held him in and took a moment to catch my breath and wipe my brow, it felt good to be against someone like Felix. A skilled fighter. Back at The Elite Strike Force base, it didn't take much for me to take down Private Riley, or Lieutenant Davis and Lieutenant Willow as they always went easy on me and tried to demonstrate different fighting styles and moves for me to learn. It wasn't a spar at all, just a measly one on one training session. I did benefit from them though but, God, I wished I could've released my full potential on them like I had just done with Felix.

"Whatever you say, Rin. But that was a good fight, I honestly wasn't expecting myself to have to go that hard against you just to keep up"

"Hah! So you admit it! You were being a little try-hard!"

We both laughed as I extended a hand to pull him up to his feet again. Little did I know that Dawn, Raphael, and Leo were watching the entire time as Leo spoke with a very stern and strict voice that I had never heard from him before until now.

"Are we interrupting something?"

Felix spun his head around to face them and cleared his throat.

"No. No sir- we were just-"

Leo interrupted him before Felix could finish explaining himself.

"I don't want to hear it. Rin. Come with me. We have matters to discuss. Now."

I sighed but followed him as he led me back to the Guild hall. I sat on the crate with my arms and legs folded as Dawn, Raphael, and Leo took their seats as well.
