The police were talking to Vic and Andy. Kellin had left because he had to go to set up since he was playing soon.

No, they hadn't gotten in trouble or anything. Vic told them how I had been attacked, and how my abusive ex-boyfriend Reilly was threatening to kill me and wanted to hurt me. I had told the guys everything eventually. It had just taken a little time.

There were already a few officers interrogating people who knew Reilly, trying to figure out where he was. Vic had called the police the minute I told him about who I had run into earlier. He wasn't going to let it slide; he wanted me to be safe. He was explaining everything, along with Andy, luckily, since I was too scared to say anything. The police had said I didn't have to talk, since I was so scared, as long as I had told Vic EVERYTHING. Jaime and Tony, and even Mike for a few minutes, were listening to Vic as he spoke, finally learning what was going on. They were going to be watching me like hawks for a while...

I was worried. What if they never found him? Yeah, the cops were looking for him, and he was already proven guilty, but just because the cops know about him now doesn't mean everything's going to be okay.

"Hey. Feeling any better?" Jaime said, interrupting my thoughts. He was walking up to me with a soft taco in each hand. They were homemade tacos, not from, like, Taco Bell or anything. He handed me one as I spoke, tearing into his like an animal. Boys these days... I thought, feebly trying to cheer myself up. It didn't work.

"What if he escapes?" I said, unable to keep my worries inside.

Jaime shook his head. "That's not going to happen. He's never going to touch you. Especially now.

The cops just found a dead girl in Reilly's house. All the evidence points directly at him. He'll be in prison for life. You're gonna be okay," Jaime said. I drew in a sharp breath. So Reilly was even more insane than I had thought he was. Wow.

"I promise," Jaime added, knowing I wasn't fully convinced. I sighed, shaking my head. They didn't even have him yet!

"Listen, I know what you're thinking about. They WILL find him. Until then... well actually, we'll always protect you, you know. Forever," Jaime said, as I finally acknowledged my taco, gingerly taking a bite. I would never know what these people saw in me.

"It good?" He asked, as I took bigger bites, and I cracked a smile. "Yep. Who made it?" I asked, and he chuckled. "Tony. He makes the best tacos. I, on the other hand, make the best... Well, I make the best of a lot of things," he said, then winked at me suggestively. I burst out laughing, earning a few strange looks from other people.

"You seem too childish for anything like that," I blurted, giggling like a maniac. He gave me an offended look, hurtingly putting his hand over his heart dramatically. Someone knew how to cheer me up well.

"Ouch." Mike said, chuckling as he appeared behind me. "You know... I think we all know that I'm the best with the ladies!" Mike said, smirking.

At the same time, Jaime and I rolled our eyes. "Come on. Sleeping With Sirens is playing right now, and I know you like them. You need a distraction, anyways," Jaime said, dragging me away. He was careful to avoid my injuries, which was nice.

"So... What's your favorite color?" He said, catching me off guard.

"Uhhhhh, red. Or sometimes blue. Or teal. I don't know," I mumbled, looking around. I was too distracted to be talking. The questions were unimportant, anyway.

"Okay. Mine's green. What's your favorite food?"

"Uhhh..." I had to think for a while, "Probably pasta or something like that. Maybe mac 'n cheese. I like cheese a lot!"
