I changed this a little, btw :) thought it was too boring.
Once it gets dark, people start to take turns playing on the stage. A lot of people try playing with friends from other bands, which is hard, because a lot of times they don't know the same songs. It's pretty fun to watch. A bunch of bands should get together and do this for a concert someday. I'd pay to watch.
"Boo," Jaime says from behind me, while I'm watching Jinxx expertly play violin, and I jump a little, even though I know its him the second he speaks. I can recognize his voice from one word even far away.
"What was that for?" I tease, still a bit jumpy, and he just chuckles mischievously, knowing I'm not mad at all. He's lucky I don't overreact about that kind of thing.
"Love you," he says with a smirk, making me roll my eyes. Always trying to distract me, I swear...
"I have a surprise for you!" He nearly shouts, suddenly excited. I raise my eyebrows, interested in the surprise but unimpressed with his attitude. Well, Jaime has an interesting personality. I'll give him that.
"What is it?" I ask lamely, and he reaches his hand out. I grab it without thinking, holding his hand now an automatic gesture, and right away, he leads me away from the crowd. I don't get a response.
"Where are we going?" I ask, giggling foolishly, trying to keep up. Being short has some major disadvantages. He just looks back with a happy expression, and I can imagine what he would say to me. Something along the lines of, "It's a surprise!" Well, it didn't hurt to ask.
Eventually, we end up past the buses, which is confusing. I trust Jaime though, so I don't worry at all. I doubt we'll go much further. It'd be useless if he's trying to get out to where it's quieter and a lot more private. I'm tired, too.
Jaime stops all of a sudden, freezing in his tracks, and I stumble past him clumsily. I blush, embarrassed of my awkwardness. Of course, I had to trip.
When I turn around, he's standing there with a giant grin, with a small crimson box in his hand. My jaw drops.
"I lied. I didn't forget anything," he says, momentarily hanging his head in shame then snapping back to his normal happiness. He looks like he's on top of the world, he's so happy. Just that alone makes me feel good inside. I feel the same way.
I laugh. I was worried earlier, all for nothing. I overreacted. I was stupid. I won't make that mistake again.
"Well, open it!" He prompts excitedly, and hands me the little box. I slowly open it, anxious to see what it is. I feel like a little kid on Christmas, although this gift is rather spontaneous. When did he come up with this?
My curiosity gives in, pushing away my rambling thoughts earlier, and I slowly open the fragile box. Inside is a breathtaking heart-shaped necklace, with a tiny music note on one side of the heart and a tiny J on the other. I gasp, overflowing with happiness.
"Jaime!" I squeal, unable to contain my excitement. It's so beautiful! It's perfect. Absolutely perfect. I'm amazed. It shows the two things I love the most: Music and Jaime. He couldn't have chosen anything better.
He walks closer, and takes the necklace. "Turn around," he instructs, and I obey without thought, giddy with excitement.
He gently puts the necklace around my neck and attaches it, spinning me back around. His hands are around my waist, causing my stomach to tie into knots just because of his touch. What his touch does to me...
"Beautiful," he breathes, but not about the necklace, I don't think. I'll never get what he sees in me. I'm not that special. No one's ever cared this much, and all of a sudden, Jaime cares. I don't understand it, but whatever. I give him a loving smile, swooning over his... Everything. His smile. His dimples. His body. His voice. His personality.
