'He's not dying?!' My mind screamed. 'Wha- how- is he like Muzan in the way that he's resistant to getting decapitated?!'
"Your expression is lovely... I wanted to see that face of yours. Hufufu..."
He said, blood trickling out of his mouth.
"You want me to tell you why I won't die even though you cut off my head? Fine, since I'm feeling great right now. It's so simple, even a baby can understand. Ufufu... that's not my real body any more. And the same goes for this form that's speaking to you right now. I'm taking the shape of a head, but I'm not a head. While you were snoring away peacefully, I 'fused' with the train!"
My eyes widened in shock.
"This whole train became my blood, flesh, and bones! Ufufu, your face! Good, good, so you understand?! So basically all of the two hundred passengers on the train are now food to further strengthen my body, as well as my captives. So, can you protect all of them? All by yourselves?"
A vein popped on my head.
"You bet your life I can!"
I screamed. The demon only chuckled, and his 'head' morphed into the train. Tanjiro screamed,
"Zenitsu!!!!! Inosuke!!!!!!! Rengoku!!!!! Wake the f*ck up!!!!!! Nezuko, protect the people in the train!!!!!!!"
There was a rumbling in front of us, and Inosuke burst through the roof. Like, literally.
"Follow me , my minions!! Ungaaaah!! Pig assault! That is the way of Inosuke-samaaaaa!!"
Despite his ridiculous personality, I found myself glad that he was at least awake and with us. Me and Tanjiro yelled at him in unison, not out of anger, but out of urgency.
"Inosuke! This train is no longer safe! Protect those who're inside! This whole train turned into a demon!! Can you hear me?! This entire train is a demon!!"
Inosuke's eyes widened, or I assumed they did because of his stupid pig mask. Not that I was one to talk about masks, what with my bandages covering almost my entire face.
"I knew it... it was just as I anticipated... that means that I was right and I'm the boss!!"
Inosuke jumped back into the train, and I heard some sounds that were probably his ridged swords slicing through the disgusting demon flesh that was appearing all over the train. I heard what sounded like a thunderclap. 'Good... Zenitsu's awake as well... he, Inosuke and Nezuko should be able to take care of part of the train...'
I jumped into the train as well, alongside Tanjiro, and I saw Rengoku literally hacking through demon flesh, saying,
"Hmm... it seems things took a turn while I was taking a nap!! As a pillar, I'm ashamed of myself! If there's a hole, I want to go into it!"
I just stared at him.
"Now's not the time, Kyojuro."
I turned to Tanjiro.
"Tanjiro, Kyojuro will defend the back 4 cars, and I'll protect the front 4. You, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke look for the demon's neck."
"Neck? But the demon is-"
"I don't care what it looks like. If he's a demon, he'll have a neck!"
Tanjiro picked up Nezuko and a sleepwalking Zenitsu, then, alongside Inosuke, they made their way towards the front of the train. Good. I focused on the demon parts in the front 4 cars, slicing through them. In one of them, a child was about to get eaten. I blitzed to the child, slicing through the demon parts around him. I looked at the child.
"It's okay. Just wake your parents up, and stay calm. I'll take care of you."
I said before blitzing to another area where an innocent was going to get eaten. I heard screams of battle from the back 4 cars. 'Rengoku's doing well, but to be forced to use his breathing styles... this demon's truly something.'
I blitzed around the train, ripping off demon parts, until they stopped regenerating, and instead started to disintegrate. They had finally cut off his neck. 'Goo-'
My thoughts were cut off by the train turning off course towards the forest on the side. I jumped out of one of the windows and gripped the train, trying to push it back. But even though I stopped the worst of it, the train flipped on it's side when I let go of it.
I signed in relief, and started trying to push the train back upright, while people staring frantically leaving. There were a few injured people, and when they came to me for help after I lifted the train back upright, I took off some of my bandages to instead give them to the injured people.
They were scared of my scars, but hey, it was bleeding to death or seeing my scars, I think the choice was obvious.
I was tending to the wounds, so I didn't see that Kyojuro was engaging in combat. I didn't pick up the signs, even for upper moon 3. And by the time I noticed, by the time I came rushing to his aid, Kyojuro had a huge, for-some-reason-donut-shaped hole in his chest.
I screamed in rage.
Drawing my katana, I launched myself at the striped basketball-looking demon. I saw the conflict in his eyes when he saw me, him wondering whether or not to attack me, but I ignored it. The sun would be rising soon. Even if I couldn't kill him, the sun would.
I barreled into him from the side, knocking him down. I lifted my blade and let it fall on his neck. But it didn't pierce. The demon's neck must have been too strong. I punched his skull, jerking his head to the side, trying to make the head fall off the body.
He tried to run away, away from me, from the sun, from Tanjiro's eternal rage, but my grip on him was too strong. I kept punching his face.
"Don't run, coward!! You murderer!! You loser!!! Fight your battles!! Don't run!! You lost!! Rengoku won!! Nobody died!! Rengoku's the winner!! And you're the loser!!"
I kept punching him. His head never fell off. But the sun rose. And under me, the demon disintegrated.
