Again, the point of view is 1st person omnipotent, so you will not see Nick and Patroclus's scene. Basically, while on the run from the police, Nick runs into the Trojan Soldier, who attempts to assassinate him. Also, this Captain America is seen to be a lot more ruthless than Steve Rogers would be, so Sharon was not needed, therefore not in this book.
Achilles' apartment, DC,
Walking into his apartment building, Achilles is zoning out, mostly just thinking about what he's going to eat for dinner, when he hears a noise coming from his apartment.
It appears to be his stereo, but Achilles knows for a fact that he did not leave it on.
Because it has never been turned on.
Cautiously stepping through the door, Achilles has his hand gun drawn. A gift from Briseis that is turning out to be more useful by the day.
Suddenly, the music stops, then resumes. Creeping into the living room, guns nd shield in hand, Achilles sees Nick Fury sprawled out on his couch.
Achilles sighs. "I don't remember giving you a key."
"You really think I'd need one?" Fury pauses. "My wife kicked me out."
Now that's strange. "I didn't know you were married."
"A lot of things you don't know about me." The director grunts.
"I know, Nick. That's the problem."
Fury pulls out a phone, and starts silently typing on it, motioning for Achilles to stay quiet. He quickly typed on it, "EARS EVERYWHERE"
"I'm sorry to have to do this, but I had no place else to crash." He types again, "SHIELD COMPROMISED".
"Who else knows about your wife?" Achilles questions, finally taking the hint.
"Just," Nick pauses before showing him the screen where it reads, "YOU AND ME". "My friends." Is what Fury says out loud.
"Is that what we are?"
Fury stands up, quickly replying. "That's up to you."
All of a sudden, Achilles hears gunshots piercing through his wall and Fury cries out.
Nick falls to the ground, groaning in pain, and Achilles is quick to drag him behind another wall, shield raised.
Coughing, Fury grabs Achilles arm in a desperate hold, and holds out something to him.
A flashdrive.
"Don't trust anyone!" Fury shouts between pants.
Achilles grabs his walkie talkie and speaks into it. "Foxtrot is down, he's unresponsive. I need EMTs."
"Do we have a 20 on the shooter?" The man questions.
"Starting pursuit now." Achilles replies, before slamming the device onto the floor and jumping out of the window in the direction of the attacker.
Achilles smashes through a building's window with shield in hand, now directly below the assassin. He runs through a wall and turns corners, inadvertently breaking some walls in doing so.
Through the window in front of him, Achilles sees the man drop onto the roof in front of him, and darts towards him, crashing through the window.
Just as the masked assailant was about to jump off the building, Achilles throws his shield, intending to incapacitate him, when the man does something shocking.
He turns around and catches the shield.
Now, his bruised a red eyes lock onto Achilles, holding a silent warning in them. He twists his arm and flings the shield, right into Achilles stomach, sending his sliding backwards, then jumps off the building.
As Achilles runs toward the edge to attempt to locate him, he finds the streets empty and the man nowhere in sight.
